I love the rhyme within. This could be a true story. I've heard that plants do thrive with loving words spoken to them and vice versa.

Thanks so much for the totally uplifting feedback and support. I have some friend that renew their Christmas tree each year and another who taught me to read my own poetry aloud where my plants could hear - it really does work as does soothing music. One of the cancer patients I became friends with believed they were cursed since every plant they received eventually died and I suggested playing Mozart or Chopin to them and it worked :). Foliage is just as delicate and sensitive as we are and deserve the same measure of compassion and respect.

Thanks much for the lovely encouragement and support. Both are truly appreciated. I actually know a couple of folks who do every year - they nurture the strongest sprigs inside until spring and then plant them in a field behind the house where they can watch them grow. I guess you could say I tend to attract weird folks LOL.

Very descriptive narrative. I imagined it being a old Christmas tree tossed out after the holidays. This inspired me to think about how people bring a living spirit into their house, decorate it, love it then when the time is over throw it out. Something not needed any more just discarded as it was never part of ones life. We can take individuals discarded objects and bring our own life into them. A very nice analogy of how we care for one another and how we don't care for one another but how we need care for one another.

I am the gardener in our house and have many sprigs I have rescued and agonized over, as they lay for all the world dead. Then nature presses a button and their time to live begins, one tiny green sprig, and I give Thanks. Sincerely Anne. Congrats on the win Mystic.
