I had a dim-witted cousin who drowned while bobbing for apples. I guess he really wanted one. Your poem is an excellent contest entry and the picture perfectly illustrates it.

How things have changed today, now they just go on Tinder to look for their preferred apples, ha ha. Of course that is not a seasonal game it is all year round.
I enjoyed the tale of Demeter and Persephone and their connection to Autumn. I think my wife must have picked the right apple, 27 years and counting, ha ha. Great rhyming too... impressive! Good luck
