What a brilliant one-line poem, Kay. And it rhymes! The picture is really scary, so many people are losing everything. Its not so much the house and furniture, but more about the photos that can't be replaced, the treasures owned for generations, the things that are priceless to the owner that can never be brought back. Powerful poem, my friend, good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Hello my one-legged seagull! Thanks for reading. Problem; there is no time to grab anything, wildfires are fierce. So nice to hear from you. Love, K.

Between your title and your one line poem, you show the dramatic picture of the fires raging across two states Aussie. So much destruction.

Hello Valda, Thanks for reading. Yes, we are in big trouble and no rain predicted for another month. If we had had the Spring rains it would have been a different scenario. Temps are hovering at (33C) 104F Pray for rain. Love, K.

That is a very sad yet true statement. Wildfires when out of control can be horrible things and yes there really is no return to how things were. Very good job on this one line poetry, because making a poem that is only one line while still remaining poetic is a difficult thing to do.

Hello Ashley, Thanks for reading. We are in trouble in two states, seventy fires out of control. No rain for four months and howling winds to cap it off. Please pray for respite. Cheers, Kay.

What a heartbreak, Aussie. Your one line contest entry is powerful. I like the rhyme, the poignant image, and the overall presentation. Thanks for the author notes, too. I will keep all there in my prayers--people and animals. Take care. Best wishes. Respectfully with Love, Jan

Hello my friend Jan, It seems as if end of days has come early. Never have we experienced such situations covering two states. Water is our biggest problem. This firestorm isn't in the country, it is close to the city. I, fortunately live in a regional city, close to the coast. It is so bad, firefighters are being flown in from NZ to to relieve our men. I hate to think how many native animals are lost. We have moved cattle etc to safe places. Bless you, Kace XX
