I well know what it means when the red gums burn down as fast as possible due to the blue oil that they emanate. Lack of rainfalls are immensely dangerous. This happened in the '50's when I was a child too on some of the surrounded farms in NSW. I can see all of it ! One thousand homes burn down and six victims. What a disaster! I can only pray for them all. God bless them all.

Are you familiar with Mabaker on this site? She's from Australia also. She speaks with concern about these fires. In one line you have captured the crux of this on-going tragedy. This is a very important issue to address. So many homes and lives lost. I'm sure things are the same in Australia as in America. There are accounts of firefighters' homes burning as they are fighting to save others' homes. Two of my friends had to evacuate. Fortunately, they are safely back in their homes. Thank you for writing about this. A+

Hello Liz, No, not familiar with Mabaker. Quite a few Aussies on FS.
The weather has changed dramatically all over the World. We only have seven states and three of them are fighting bushfires. I live in Queensland, no rain for 4 months. Thanks for reading my friend. XXK.

Good luck in the contest Kace. You captured the terrible drought situation in a single line, well done. Unfortunately it seems that all over the world nature is wrecking havoc. Drought and fires in Australia, raging fires in California USA on the west coast with severe rains and mud slides on the east coast. It seems like nature wants a clean slate.

Thank you for your good wishes. Some say it is the beginning of Armageddon. I think it's climate change all over the world. We can't keep taking and not putting back. Love to you, Kace.

So true Kace, I guess we will just keep hoping and praying. You are so welcome.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you deliver a technically sound One Line Poem. The content is powerful in its simplistic imagery about a deadly and serious problem. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

Hello my friend, Thanks for reading, never experienced fires like these across two states. Men shipped in to help our exhausted firefighters. Our dams are at 60%. Blessings, Kace.

Hello my friend the squirrel lady, Yes, we are in big trouble. Millions of acres burnt and so far, 150 homes. Nature is much stronger than puny man. Love, Kace.
-
I hope things have gotten better with the fires.
-
Worse now Marilyn. Three states are burning. Two-hundred and fifty homes gone, luckily or not, three dead. I have never seen my backyard without grass. I am feeding a flock of birds. Water restrictions soon. Dams at 50%. Pray please. Love, K.

Hi Kace. Fire is a frightening thing. I've seen it firsthand. Bless you all and stay safe. Animals have it particularly hard.
-
Every retailer is asking for a donation for drought/fire relief. So many of our native animals gone. Animal welfare are working just as hard as the firemen. Two huge water-bombing aircraft from Canada have flown in; sucking the water from the sea. It's devastating. I just can't see how the land can come back as millions of acres are gone. Stock losses in the thousands. Armageddon?
-
I am so sorry, Kace.
-
Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Our land will rise again once the rains come. We must have faith, without it, there is nothing. Love, Kace XX

I heard that a fireman set the fires so he could be there to put them out. A sad state of affairs. Marilyn

Always some dickhead that is a firebug. It is sad for those who have lost everything. Love, Kace.

Nice poem, it is terrifying what is going on over there. I heard it's a lot more than what burnt in Brazil. Thanks for sharing this and have yourself a really great day

G'day Oliver, Thanks for reading. Yes, millions of acres are burning. More than the Brazil fires. Cheers, Kay.

What a devastating picture! Your one line entry describes it perfectly. Our hearts go out to anyone in such a horrible situation. I cannot imagine watching disaster coming closer and closer and not being able to do anything to stop it. Wow!

It is amazing that this fire continues. We get very little information on it here in Mexico. I do hope you are in a safe area. Great job with this entry, I sincerely wish you all the best.

Hello Sasha, This and many other fires in two states out of control because we have had no rain for four months! I am in a regional city, not surrounded by bush. They should have back=burned months ago. Our temps. for spring are hovering around 104F. I dread to think what December will bring. Thank you Sasha. XXK

Just be sure to stay safe.

Hi Kace, One line poems don't come much shorter than this but you make a strong statement. Indeed the country is burning - wild fires destroying what, in some cases, cannot be replaced. Well done with so few words - warm regards and Good Luck in the contest. Dorothy xx

Hi Dorothy, thanks for reading. I have never experienced wildfires like this. Govt now has the army on standby. Firefighters have been brought in from NZ and Western Aust. Two-thousand fighters and the weather gets worse. Around 104F. Love, K.
