Most cool display of characterizing the power of fluidity. This poem both calmed me and intrigued me with its dance of being, free from toil. Congrats on winning.

Fantastic imagery in this well written tanka. I love "shards of spun glass". Stargazing has become more difficult because of light pollution in urban areas. But my heart lifts whenever I glimpse these jewels in the sky.
Best wishes for the contest.

Crisp writing, painting a seascape in words as fluid as the waters it's describing. Excellent choice of image to visually reflect your poetry. Great entry for this Tanka contest... ...ec

An excellent entry for this contest. You ably painted an image in your Tanka posting. Your selected artwork matched perfectly with your words.
Especially liked phrasing of:
first and third lines, and
... blue velvet
S-letter alliteration in 2nd line was terrific too.

Your well-written tanka, through the use of vivid terms, describes an awe-inspiring look at the nighttime sky. Your metaphors create very creative
imagery.

A very well-written Tanka about the dark midnight skies shimmer like shards of spun glass in various patterns across the deep blue velvet.

Your splendid tanka is rich in imagery, and complemented perfectly by its striking illustration, a depiction surpassed only by
what the photographer actually witnessed.
Good luck in the 'Write a Tanka' contest.

A very nice Tanka. I can see the midnight skies filled with patterns as the stars gleam with a million or more smiling faces. The picture of the sky is a complement to your words Author. Thank you for sharing and good luck on the contest. :)
