CONGRATULATIONS on Third Place! :) :) What I would not give for time for one 'perambulation' these days - LOL!! ;) Although it is late due to work/family, I wanted you to know how grateful I am that you joined our obscurity fun this time, L-M!! Take care and have a wonderful week! ;) Yvette

Thanks Yvette! I hope your week goes by with drama and exhaustion.

I left out the word "NO"!!! I just checked what I wrote and it seems I wished you a week of drama and exhaustion. Not my intention at all!!

This 7-9-7, Perambulate, has the proper formatting and displays the titular word while showing the reader how to walk it off.

I liked this word and I thought at first it meant taking a pram for a walk! I enjoyed this word, it is so much more interesting that just going for a walk! Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

    You'd be right:
Pram is short for perambulator, "one who walks or perambulates," which gained the meaning "baby carriage" in the 1850s.

Hello mystery writer. I haven't used that word in several years but I certainly uses in the past. He did a very good job on the poem the only keeping the 7-9-7 style but you made it rhyme. I like writing poems. It is a fine job and I wish you the best in the contest.

Your poem is fine. It meets the requirements for the contest! Don't know where you're walking to but who cares! LOL That's part of perambulating!
Good luck with the contest!

I have learned so many different words from these interesting poems. This is a word that is actually a usable one in my opinion. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

It's great to broaden our vocabulary. Even if we never use the word again, it's interesting learning about them.

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables in this skillfully-written, delightful poem. You have smoothly included the definition "stroll." The rhyming is a nice touch.

A very well-written 7-9-7 with the obscure word 'perambulate' that simply means to go for a walk after dinner and take a friend with you to enjoy the walk.

It's weird how long words get used for simple things.
    Thanks for reviewing.

I think you rose to the occasion with great aplomb, and I do enjoy that you've rhymed the lot. Perambulate is one of my favourite words and also just the thing for all of obscurity.

Well done and good luck to you in the booth. :)

Thanks for your kind words. My dad used to say he was going for a post-prandial perambulation.

This is a lovely poem with a nice flow to it. I appreciate the rhyme scheme. Although I had heard the word before, it certainly meets the contest criteria. I love the picture!

Thanks for your review, Susan. It's a word my dear old dad used a lot. He made it sound even more pompous on purpose for a laugh when he would say he was going for 'a post-prandial perambulation' - instead of just saying he was going for an after-dinner walk.
