I like your alliteration which is appropriately represented with the letter f. I also hate forms. I had one to fill out at my bank. "Now just take this home and return it when you can. In a child-like pose, "do I HAVE to take it home? Can't we fill it out here?" Why certainly." Done in less than 10 minutes. When I was buying my house I signed on the seller's line. I am as the current expression goes" a hot mess. I'm sure you will draw many readers in to identify. Then the s's effect the hissing which is very appropo. I am voting for this one.

Thank you so much for your supportive review and comments. I can totally relate to your signing on the wrong line - I am always putting my first name where my last name should be and getting the date wrong and missing out questions altogether then having delays because they can't process it. I just freak out with official forms and am very happy when someone else is there to point out what and where I need to write something. It seems to be an absolutely blind spot with me.

I also have had things delayed because I didn't fill all of the blanks in. I have ADD. It's just too much stimuli, too many spaces

That sounds like a problem for you. I don't think i have a valid reason like you do - I have just talked myself out of feeling capable.

Well done choosing this particular phobia - form filling - bane of peoples' lives !! successfully portrayed here - excellent use of alliteration allowing the rhythm to flow -

I think this is an interesting entry for the Phobia contest.
You speak of a fear of filling out forms and avoidance.
I'm not sure this qualifies as a phobia but it is well done.
Good luck to you with the contest.

    Thanks for your review.
That's the thing about phobias - they don't make sense to people who don't have them; they are just extreme or irrational fears or aversions so I guess someone could develop a phobia about absolutely anything. It would be real for them and inexplicable to others.

This free verse about a phobia, Fear of Filling Out Forms, finds the frightful folly of form filling a fatally flawed fiasco. Find another fellow to fill out those forms my friend.

I'm loving the rich alliteration in your poem about phobias here. Many fear filling in forms because when you don't get it right then your life is sometimes on hold, either applying for a job or anything to do with authorities. Try filling forms in when you don't speak the language! Thank goodness for google translate! I enjoyed your poem, it is inventive and for the alliteration alone, you have my vote, love Dolly x

Thanks for your support, Dolly. Alliteration has become something of a signature for me.
Your foreign form-filling would totally do my head in.

Wonderful commentary on an odious task. The use of alliteration is a powerful tool in telling your tearful tale. (uh oh, it's catching...) Good job and good luck in the contest... ...ec

Thanks for your review. I enjoy and overdo alliteration; it seems to have become a signature mark of mine.

A very well-written poem about the fobia of filling in forms. I don't like to fill in forms but I don't think it qualifies for a fobia. I guess one can get overwhelmed by too many forms to fill in.

Thanks for your review. I currently have a multi page form awaiting my attention and I break out into a sweat and a panic attack whenever I look at it. One good side effect: my procrastination means that plenty of other things are getting done, but they aren't the priority of course.

I love the use of all the adjectives working off each other..
Wow, is all I got. Almost too much word salad but I love a good salad.. New words are always welcomed to my mind. Thanks and keep, it up.

It was something of an overdose. I dashed it off quickly to catch the deadline, so it is probably something of a tossed salad - I didn't have time to refine it. Thanks very much for reviewing.

The abundant alliteration really echoes the theme of how forms are repetitive and redundant. I think that was an awesome choice. I wonder, though, if breaking from the alliteration for a line would bring the phobia and anxiety to life?

Yes, I agree - the alliteration is rather overdone. I got carried away, avoiding filling out a form sitting waiting for my attention!

I appreciate how your last line includes the word "form." This is a fantastic entry full of alliteration and humor at one's own faults. I too loath filling out forms.
