I understood and enjoyed your poem. It made me think of days back when the Indians ruled the plains and how they may have felt exactly like the words in your poem!

This is a wonderful suite of 3-6-9 poems. Well composed and displayed. Illustration is appropriate, but the focus is on your well written piece. Best of luck in the contest. Looks like a winner to me. Marilyn

This is an excellent entry in this 3/6/9 poetry contest my friend. Oh when one had real hope in one's life, there is nothing that can waylay that or torture the heart of the faithful, though hell stand against you cannot fall. Beautifully expressed in this gem. Well done, blessings, Roy

You have written a forceful poem depicting the strength of the struggle to survive and the persistence and perseverance that will bring you through to the light which waits to be savored. Great picture. Hope I got it right.

A very well-written 3-6-9 poem about the earth, wind, and fire. We walk on solid ground daily and the blowing winds push us to a broader course. The fire brings the heat to see the light of change.

Comment from Gail Denham
I wonder if you write from experience of being in one of the terrible wild fires that have happened in recent years. I think of the town of Paradise - completely destroyed. It's heartbreaking. A good poem, having a good look at what a fire does and is.

Gail, thank you for your review. Your comments are appreciated. I have not experienced, first hand, the heat of fires that claim everything in its path but we have a lot of bush fires here that announce their presence alarmingly during the warmer seasons. ~DD

The clever thing about this 3-6-9 poem ios the cross rhyme in each tercet from the fourth syllable of the second line to the final syllable of the third. This feature give the poem a delightful unity.

This is a well written poem. I especially like the way you have constructed your rhyme scheme. The format meets the requirements laid out in the contest guidelines. Thanks for sharing.

-A good image and
presentation for your poem, DD.
-The syllable count and
imagery are good, along with rhyme.
-I like your take on the topic.
-You use the heat to focus on
"a broader course" and a
"leap in renewed faith."
-We need a lot of faith
every day to get us through
everything going on around us.
-Good luck in the contest.
