A visually stunning image is complemented well by descriptive verse.
Autumn is such an interesting season and you have captured its essence well.

Oh I love this picture. I so wish we had color changes in FL, but just brown or green. ={ Of course we don't have all the leaves falling and having to rake either. So I guess there might be a bright side. Well done as always my dear. Rox

Hello Rox. Thanks for your fun review. We don?t have color yet in central VA, but we are raking anyway... Hubby spent most of the day at it. Have a lovely Sunday.

Thank you for capturing autumn in her vivid colors and jaunty breezes. I enjoyed the matching picture you selected and could almost hear the rustling through the trees. More cheers- Joan

Thank you Joan. I always imagine the trees are dancing when a brisk wind blows through... just a whimsy of mine. LOL

Hi Melissa,

I love this little five line poem :) You maximized on such few words to describe a lovely scene :) Your last two lines did it for me. I'm also picturing the flapper dresses from the twenties. Or was it the thirties? No idea how that image popped into my mind, but there you go. You sent me down two scenic paths at the same time.

Not in a contest/ It should be. It's excellent.

Joy xx

Hello Joy!! I truly thank you for your lovely comments and stars. I think the autumn trees sound like rustling petticoats when the wind blows... just a whimsy of mine. Thank you, my friend.

Yes, I said I liked your vision. I guess my mind wanders and I should focus more on the poet I'm reviewing and not share my own silly thoughts.

This is a very satisfying poem. I can feel the leaves crunching under my feet as they fall to the ground. the only part I don't like is "a five line poem" I feel this space could be put to much better use.

Hi Katherine. I will think about what I can do to replace the 5 Line verse notation... The only thing is when I do a search through my portfolio, I look for the subtitle to identify the types of poems I have written. Frequently, I like to look back at a certain form so I can see what I have done before in that type of poem. The subtitle helps a lot with that. Thank you.

OK, whatever works for you - I always see everything from my own point of view :)

Very colorful. Great imagery of the autumn petticoats sashaying. Great word, sashay. The cool breezes can keep you moving. Your lines come together very smoothly. What a beautiful picture you chose with the gorgeous trees. We aren't seeing much color yet here in Indiana. Maybe in a few weeks. judi

Hello Judi. Thanks so much. We are not seeing color yet either, here in central VA, but we woke to 46 degrees. Maybe soon... :)

Wonderful personification of Autumn the seductive cancan dancer. The leaves are finally turning where I live. All because of those "nippy breezes.'

I enjoyed this poem. The format works perfectly.

Great imagery of petticoats rustling in the wind. Although the cleanup afterwards will be murder! Fall is a feast for the senses. Food wise as well!

Hi June.... I know what you mean about the cleanup... Hubby is out raking up now with all the leaves that have fallen.... so dusty too. Thanks for your review.

Melissa,

A delightful dance scene you created for your fall prom. How many notes will it take to name your tune? - hahah

'petticoats sashay' is such a great phrase to describe those trees and leaves doing the 'swing' not jive moves.

'nippy breezes' is a close second.

A beautiful picture accompanies your contest entry.

Mark

Thank you Mark. When the wind is in the trees, it seems they are dancing... Much appreciated.
