I like your personification of Autumn and I guess summer and autumn are both masculine in Spanish. We didn't really have a summer and it feels like we're heading straight to winter!

All seasons are masculine except spring.
Thanks for reading.

Interesting! In Russian, all seasons are feminine except summer which is neuter.

This is a beautifully penned piece and quite poetic in both form and content. We al seem to love Spring and Fall because they are both so vibrant and temperate - we forget what follows LOL. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Well, up until an hour ago our weather was just like yours. The cold front is now blowing in. Humanizing the weather was a hoot, Maria. Hugs, Lou

A very well-written flash fiction about waiting for a lover that seems to forget to return on the specified time and we just waiting patiently until they come.

We had an unusually long hot spell following September. It has finally dropped below the 90s. I can really relate to this posting and I don't think it is silly at all. Autumn this year is a true sweetheart! lol

I take it that summer is the one who won't leave, and autumn can't arrive until he goes. I had to reread couple times to get that. Like you, and most folks, I think, I am very much looking forward to the cooler weather.

I watch for Orion when it graces the sky Autumn is here. In Louisiana, we had our first kiss with lows in the fifties.

Hi Maria Jose, this is a fine little story that I really enjoyed to read. Yeah, maybe it was a silly one and yet it was not. I liked it. It's still warm here, as well, and I love it. We're all enjoying an indian summer or the Santo Miguel. Ulla xx

MJ,
Funny you say you rolled up your (short) sleeves...? hahaha
You must like autumn much more than I do. I am not ready for summer to end. We finally, FINALLY got a pool - just in time to close it pretty much. Grrrrrr....
hahaha Cute. Thanks for the smile!

It has arrived here! All my leafed plants and trees are changing colour and dropping in the garden. I do love Autumn. Going into the forest is a delight. Your ending to this flash fiction took me by surprise, I truly wasn't expecting that! Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx
