I am really enjoying this series. You have a delightful way with the play on words. I especially liked the polytech, however I think you might want to write it as pollytech. Patricia

Thanks for your suggestion to modify polytech - it does make it more obvious.

We had one of those in our home for a time. One of the college students that lived with us had to have her birds. It was a lovely bird. Good job on this critter story. Keep it up

I prefer birds to fly free. They are beautiful though, and it is lovely to see them close up. I think they are rather messy to have in the house.

Our college student (who then happened to be a son's girlfriend) also had a Macaw, which she dragged me a long way up into Washington to get. ah.. long ago days.

Hi Lisa. This is a wonderful little fun story with good word play. Your author's note is touching and emphasizes the importance of assuring continued care if the owner dies. The information you have provided may deter others from getting birds, knowing they are sentient and best left to their natural habitat. Marilyn

Thanks for reviewing. I have a feeling for wild creatures. Sure, we can tame them, but that is for our benefit, not theirs.
-
I agree. They'd be happier, I think, in their natural habitat.

A very well-written chapter in your search of the perfect companion and partner. Sometimes a talkative partner can become too much to handle and it is better to let them go before you go crazy.

I agree. I like peace and quiet. Some think they have to fill up the airwaves all the time. It does drive me crazy.

But he's a very light "birden," right? And it's good he doesn't "tweet all night" like some famous person we all know. Thanks for all the information in your notes. I always thought it would be cool to have one but it's a risk as we can't outlive them.

I've never kept a bird, preferring to appreciate them free, but I've seen that they are very messy. When I wrote that line about tweeting I did have Donald in mind! He has given tweeting a bad name.

What a fun play on words! My sister's family had an African Grey Parrot for many, many years. He was a fun pet, but probably wouldn't make a particularly good boyfriend. He was very messy and tended to be rather repetitive!

Yes, I would need more stimulation than that - also, I am messy enough for the both of us, I don't need more work!

;) Me too!

Another entertaining little number, Lisa. Your notes were very interesting as well. If I were you, I'd nix the idea of hooking up with a parrot. They're too pecky (picky) about people's faults. Oh, no, now you've got me doing it, haha. Hugs, Lou

Thanks for your fun review, Louise. The parrot idea is out the window. Think I'll try a 4-legged friend next.

Because he's a shitter and a seed scatterer and he yells at me and he's cleverer than me and shows me up. (I wouldn't know; I've never kept a bird - I'd rather see them fly freely.)

I don't know where you come up with your word ideas. LisaMay this one is close to the tweet storm we have up here. Keep it coming woman. I like how you write.

I was thinking of a certain POTUS when I was writing this. Thanks for reviewing. Plenty more where that came from - I keep my ears open.

I had an African Grey and a Blue & Gold Macaw for a few years :) and the greys are temperamental little buggers LOL. It's amazing what they can pick up - we learned to choose our words in front of those two kids. This is a great addition to your menagerie as it is well penned and a delightful read. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

It must have been rather loud in your house for a while. We have a pair of blue and gold Macaws in our botanic garden aviary. Oh my gosh they are so beautiful.

And sharp! I taught my BGM how to play a kid's xylophone along with me when I played guitar or practiced for choir - he spent lots of time out the cage as he got along with my five Great Danes so well - he used to ride around on Crystal's back to follow me through the house LOL.

What a wonderful household - music, dogs, birds!!

I had a really bad marriage so I kept myself occupied in other ways. It took many years before God gave me enough strength to walk out.

Animals can be such a comfort. They understand so much. God was letting you learn stuff first - such as how strong you actually are, and how you can now share your wisdom.
