It used to be fun . . . now I do most of my shopping online, lol. I don't have a choice. Anyhow, though, it's a delightful poem, that captures both the excitement and the awfulness of Black Friday.

Thank you for the review! I know it makes some people crazy but I know people that this is their ritual to be out Black Friday in the craziness! I'll watch from afar though. Online, at least they get delivered to our doorstep!

LOL - You really did a good job capturing this maddening holiday, and your rhyming words as well as rhythm made it fun to read.

As for me, I do most of my shopping online, especially on Black Friday. Hugs, Lou

It sounds like a common Black Friday 'shopping' experience, that leaves many with a vow never to suffer one again. (Eating is a better choice, even better when not preceded by B.F. shopping.)

Your poem underlines why I hate shopping, and why I have a particular aversion to these types of sales (thankfully not huge here in NZ, as we don't do Thanksgiving). People out of control with greed. I'm sure they don't need most of those items they are buying. They get persuaded by the idea of "saving" money, but they are spending unnecessarily.

Your poem is a reminder that Christmas is soon here because Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I really like your poem. It says it to a tee, Black Friday gets wild. I have some of those shoppers in my family but they aren't pushy.

I'm not sure it is really a Christmas poem, but I guess you could squeak by with the notion of Christmas shopping. Anyway I enjoyed this poem and I already am getting my list ready for Black Friday shopping. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very vivid reflection of life on the highest rated sales day of the year. Whether it be black Friday in the USA or New Year in the UK we can all identify with it. As you point out in your notes, one either loves it or hates it, but no-one who goes to the shops remains indifferent. Personally, its a phenomenon that I prefer to watch on the TV from the comfort of my (quiet) lounge.

Patty, This is a very well written poem about the day after Thanksgiving. I am so thankful we have never been shopping on Black Friday. My cousins do it, but not me. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose, love and blessings, Teri

Teri, thanks for the great review! I've always thought it was kind of stupid to actually fight over the sale items when the price will be cheaper another time before Christmas gets here. Half the time the sale item might be a really good bargain, but they might be selling only a handful at that price. Stand in line to find out the ones for the big sale have already been taken. Anyway, thanks again for the great review!

This is obviously written from a background with a lot of experience. lol
The hectic activity is all part of the general holiday--especially as it goes into overdrive. I enjoyed reading this very much, Patty. :-) (I do a lot of my shopping early!)

Thanks for the nice review, Spangle!! The past couple of years I've resorted to buying over the internet. I don't have to face crowds and everything is delivered right to my house. Now if I could only find a middleman to wrap the gifts before they deliver them to me, I'd be a happy camper.
