Yes, I truly was exhilarated on a balloon ascent over the mountains outside of Denver, it was indescribably fun!

In my opinion, a beautiful uplifting work, an experience I must enjoy vicariously, because of my extreme acrophobia. I so regret having no more Six Stars at this time, because it certainly rates it - a simply beautiful free verse write in its lyrical movement...

I've never been up in a hot air balloon. I don't think that I've honestly had a desire to. Your beautiful and descriptive writing about such an exciting adventure has whetted my appetite. This poem truly transports the reader up into the sky. I love the use of the word, "Kaleidoscope," as it really leaves the imagination a lot to play with. I like how instead of writing about seeing the balloon (like from the artist's perspective) you have instead written from within the balloon.

I like to work jigsaw puzzles and hot air balloons are one of my favorite themes. (My neighbor went up in one once and broke her leg when it had a hard landing.) I don't know if I would go up in one or not. Probably would if I had the opportunity. Your poem is lovely...and I can imagine that everyone really enjoyed the bubbly celebration! :-)
