I like your Dribble because SO MUCH HAPPENS in such a small space. We immediately wonder why the killer wants the gypsy fortune teller dead and what will happen to him? Will he somehow be caught? Rod

Great little story packed with imagery! I especially liked the line, "A rat scurried behind a dumpster." You have created a tale by successfully building tension, to progress to a resolution, within a very small word limit. Wonderful job.

Wow - what a picture - Quick and to the point. Great for a flash fiction story - and it leaves the reader to imagine what went on before that caused someone do step in and do this deed.

I am thinking that The Fortune Queen must have been murdered if she ended up in the afterlife, but I am not completely sure. The story is entertaining and well done, given the length limits of this particular challenge. I also liked the picture very much.

Hi Brett. So the furtuneteller was not able to read her own cards and that to her great cost. Great little story and good luck in the contest. All the best

A very well-written dribble flash fiction. The fortune queen sees all others future inner crystal ball but it failed her on her own fortune, she never saw her murderer coming.

Staggering into the afterlife is such a wonderful image. The difficulty with these shorties is to make an impact. Using unusual but not absurdly contrived wording enhances the chances of more than casual glances. Great work.

I'm not sure what happened other than the fortune teller being killed. What is the significance of the rat which scurried away? And the boots belonged to the killer?

May be Fortune Queen's cards will never be turned up anymore, for she believed in her afterlife, or maybe she never liked to live in the state; well said.

An enjoyable and fun poem, Brett. We find out who is more powerful, the fortune queen or the dark witch (two boots shuffled away) who seemed to have stronger magic in this mortal combat. Marilyn
