I think Dean would have loved that picture! Very cool. You're so right that as we age and know our own mortality, little ones (especially grandchildren!) revitalize us. (and exhaust!)

Thank you, lyenochka. Dean owned a cache of weird and eerie graphics and gifs.

They do at that, Bill! Kids are the lovers of life! I can remember my son's first trick or treating when he was 3. We took him to about 4 neighbors houses with his little pumpkin in his Pooh costume. So cute! One of the neighbors always does a spooky theme... lots of statues out front leading to the door. What we didn't realize was that she was the Witch statue holding the candy. My son jumped right into my arms! Never saw him leap so high or make such a loud noise! Hahaha! We had no idea... he got his Halloween scare!

Ooooh, Creepers. So Bill, what are you trying to say? Are you implying that the kids want to replace us? Are you by chance saying that we are only being kept alive so that we can produce more kids? If that is the case, I am done for, as I had a vasectomy back in 1982. No more babies coming out of me.

I had a vasectomy too, but it didn?t stop me from trying.

Me too, being a natural skeptic, I try to test it out as often as possible. LOL

Great thought in this. Given the spooky artwork, you make it look like irony. This makes me think of the high infant mortality rate in times past, when people didn't give the baby a name until waiting a few weeks to see if it would survive. Anyhow, your thought about children is a true one. Best of luck. judi

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you deliver a technically sound 1-5-7 Poem. The content is universally engaging since everyone loves kids. Your message is very true and lends an endearing quality to the overall tone. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

oh, so very true! Especially true of precious grandchildren and (unbelievably to me) greatgrandchildren. Such enthusiasm and openness, seeing the world go on anew in their lives. . . Well said.

Bill,

YIKES. You words and you image seem to conflict a bit. Though I can kind of understand the reasoning in a way. Kids awake something new and different in us from the moment they're born.... something TERRIFYING!!!!! hahahaha

Thanks and good luck!

Good Thursday morning Bill. Thank you for sharing your poem, I think you executed the 1-5-7 form of poem quite well. Good job and good luck in the contest. I have to agree that most children do that for us, give us a reason to hold on a little longer.
