Ahhh...some times we seek this peace and cannot find and sometimes it is such a blessing when it comes... love the capturing of that moment in your words here, Dolly! ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

The author's words are clear, descriptive and creative. The reader
pondered on the theme and words of this poem. The poem flows
and connects well. The artwork is perfect and compliments this
poem well.

From time to time, we all need to bask, for a fleeting moment, in the warmth of innocence life once held--and then we grew up! Peaceful nature scenes can sometimes help us recapture that essence. Your poem is very lovely and thought-provoking.

Dear Dolly, This poem and its picture made me feel very peaceful as I read it. I'm glad you let the past "float by" without crying, and I liked your contrast "so innocent and pure" and "to turn my thoughts mature." I feel you can be at peace "before the grief of life" begins. Love, Donna x

A perfect moment to think about your life, Dolly. When we are getting older we have learned to deal with the past. We have more insight about the reasons why things happened. Now we understand it.
It were the lessons of life I think. Love Fia

Again i write it is deep and beautiful, with lots of philosophy hidden for the reader to find out all by himself. Lovely Terry xoox

I'm pondering that last line, "to turn my thoughts mature." Perhaps the narrator was reflecting on some very sad memory but now has a new peace about it?

Thank you Helen for your review, in general I feel that our thoughts are deeper when we are older and more profound than when we are younger and can brush sorrow away more easily. The older we get the more it hurts I feel, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. The picture you used is so peaceful and the message explains how we are robbed of our peace after we are old enough to have to deal with all of the details in life that want to crush us. Robert

If only it were that easy to start over again, to wipe the slate clean, hit the refresh button, rewind... your poem captures the knowledge that innocence and purity are in the realm of childhood and the grief of life comes through adult experience.
(Not always true of course as many kids have traumatic childhoods).

It's true - when reality hits us - when we find out we have to WORK the rest of our lives (altho I knew that from little up - looking at my mom who did not retire till she was 72) - then the truth descends.
Good poem
