Love this one, Lady Sal -- love that it's from a little girl's perspective: tried that one in a contest this week....'twas fun!! :) :) Great idea for a Dribble, ma'am, and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

It's important to find a friend though because my grandpa married his wife cuz he didn't want to be alone and she's a real...hmmm what's the word. Well, we call her Troll soo...lol. Finding the right person is the goal.

Awe, this is so cute and so sweet. How could you not love that. The sweetness and innocence of children. I think that she's got it all lined out what she wants and expects. I really enjoyed reading this adorable and well written work. The accompanying artwork is priceless, she's so pretty! Well done!

Well, I apply for the job, Sally. Not for the pa, but for Samantha. Cute as a button. Best of luck in the contest with this sweet little flash fiction. Marilyn

This is very original. I found it sweet and touching, and your choice of words (and spelling) makes it authentic. My favourite is, "growed up." Your choice of picture fit the story perfectly too. Good luck in the contest.

This is such a touching posting. That little girl is filling her short lines with a lot of emotion, plus exceptional love for her sad Pa. Hope she gets her wish very soon! :-)

Too cute and how many kids would write a letter like that - many, if they could or if they dared. There needs to be two parents - loving each other and the kids. Sad when that isn't so.
Good story.

Awe, bless her. She does need some lessons in spelling, but it has the effect of endearing her to me. May she find the person who can make her dad smile again. A lovely entry, Sally. Good luck. Ulla xxx

Oh, Sally! This is a wonderful, poignant piece. If I were to suggest ANYTHING, it would be this minor thing -- the rest of this child's 'voice' is perfect, but I think she would be able to pronounce the full word -- "(im)portant".

My friend, if I had a vote, this would be the winner (and I have an entry too. LOL)

Thank you very much, dear Dawn. I appreciate the excellent review and kind compliments. I couldn?t spell ?important? for the longest time (as a 8-9 year old) and worked it into this piece. Sending you my best today as always, Sally xo

Hi there,

This may well do well in the competition. it certainly has that required subject matter which appears to go down well with the judges. the character-driven voice of the piece works well.

Best of luck
GMG
