This naani, Celebrate Life, has the allowable configuration with twenty-three syllables and reminds us that tomorrow is promised to no one. Live like its 1999.

Hi JLR,
We can never know when our last day is at hand. But we waste a lot of moments, don't we? I know that I should be reading a story to my granddaughter instead of watching something on the TV. But many times, I'm just too tired for anything else. I sleep so poorly, it's my only excuse.
I enjoyed your Naani poem, counted 23 syllables, too, in 4 lines. But your 3rd line confused me a bit. I think commas might have helped.
"Celebrate life fully
'cause you'll never know,
if your end came today,
what's missed along the way."
However, commas wouldn't be needed at all if you just switched your 3rd and 4th lines. See what you think...
"Celebrate life fully
'cause you'll never know
what's missed along the way
if your end came today."

Just an idea to think over.
Bottom line, I think people would enjoy life more if they'd just relish the moment. Their blood pressure would go down too, I'll bet. I hear so many retirees today saying that they don't have any spare time anymore. Imagine! No time! And they are retired! Your poem tells us, not to do more, but to enjoy the moments!

Good Luck in the contest!

Cheers,
Kimbob

This is a very nice Nanni poem. . .except I had trouble understanding it completely. Then I switched the last two lines and it made perfect sense.
Try it and see what you think. Maybe: what you missed along the way
If your end came today.
I do like it better that way. . .could just be me. It is your poem. :)

You did a great job with your contest entry, JLR. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines read well with a great message. So many people try to outdo others that they miss the simple things worth celebrating about life. Good job with the prompt. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully with Admiration. Jan

Your naani poem expresses wise advice. We never know when our life will end and so we need to cherish life and live well each day so as not to miss out or have others miss you.

I love the powerful message conveyed in this. We never know when our time is up. We should embrace the journey all out as you've so eloquently stated. I think that we should also make a impact that leaves something positive behind to be remembered by. I enjoyed the inspirational and thought provoking message of this. Great job and well done!
