Wow! This was a stunning poem. The repetition really built up the "dam" and the poem causes the reader to reflect on how the whole world is missing the loving life-giving flow that it needs. Really well done!

Emotional pebble lake the contemporary basket case. Nice idea to find out if it's the pearly gates or hell in the end. Good wisdom. Creative. Enjoyable to read. Nice work.

Thank you for sharing your reflections and the glorious artwork. Yes, life can become a dam of little pebbles that prevent the flow of love in "life's stream"--what a compelling metaphor! Sighs- Joan

Life is sometimes how people look at it and at other times it is not. I like the message you brought into your poem. It shows that life should be enjoyed than to suffer it. Excellent work!

Then you could also imagine for a second:
for every time you said a kind word, gave thanks to God,helped a stranger,
stopped an evil act, sincerely apologized for an angry outburst, loved unconditionally... you got to take a pebble out of the dam. would you even have a dam. That is what we should be aiming for, for we are always going to make mistakes and have regrets but we are also going to be proud of our deeds and actions... A great thought provoking poem friend, loved it!

Great writing expressed in this poem. I would give you six stars if I had it. We need God's grace to forgive ourselves, let go of all the regrets and press on to live a better life with less dams in our way. Thanks for sharing!

It makes perfect sense to me. Any blockage in life's energy builds up to cause a problem. Blocked emotions build up to explosive levels as in mental sickness, or breakdown. A blocked toilet drain leads to sewage spewing forth etc. Enough water blockage can create leakage or dam burst. Pebbles in life are the 'small stuff' that build to negatives. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Trisha

The image of throwing those pebbles in the stream rather than in a pond or lake really speaks to me about life moving on and how those pebbles can impede that progress of what was intended. Very thought provoking.

This is a profoundly well thought out, very well prepared and exquisitely presented piece that will make me think deeply about my sometimes careless use of words, and yes I am all too aware of the effect of words that are used to intentionally cause pain. What we do not always know is just how deeply they wound and how long they may linger in the heart and soul of the one we wounded.

I like the repetition of throwing a pebble in the stream and how it would damn up in the end. Thought provoking and inspirational.
God bless
