LOL! He should have known better than to lump all fae together - they tend to be a tad touchy about the mixing of mystical characteristics. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

No, thank you for reviewing it

Yes three types, those who vote for, those against and the abstainers, and if only the abstainers would make a decision as the indecision is where the problem always lies, those sitting on the fence complaining about both sides. Those who take no action one way or another. A poignant write here, those abstainers are trouble, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

As a Brit living in Portugal, I thank you.

I thought this was an excellent beginning to this story and will be looking out for the next part. The conversation sounded as normal as any in a pub after they have had a couple of pints. I enjoy fantasy and like the idea of the fae and the trolls. This will be quite a feisty plot and one I'll enjoy. Well done! :)) Sandra xx

Thanks. I hope the plot will be feisty, or at least alive, though at the moment I only have a broad outline. Glad you enjoyed it

I haven't read much fantasy so this is all a bit new to me but I enjoyed it, especially the dialogue. It certainly sounded like authenic 'pub talk' to me. Love the 'ask four questions, get six answers'. I guess we'll see the troll again at some point?

Perhaps the singles thing I like most in this post is the meandering nature of the direct dialogue. This is a technique that many writers avoid, or aren't aware of its benefits. By employing this format, you're likely to keep the reader's attention as they are never really sure where the conversation is going, and that's likely to intrigue. Nicely done {smiles}.
"There's three types of people in Britain," said Peter, placing his pint mug on the bar with a tad more force than was necessary.
"Those that can count to three and those that can't?" ventured Bob. -- Ha, ha. This is an old joke, but it still raises a smile on my face.
Thanks for an enjoyable read.

A well written fantasy fiction that pulled me in right away with your dialogue construction. You made me feel as if I was part of the plot. Very well done.

I find it hard to critique anything you write, Bob. I so love to just follow along on these little trips into your 'weird' mind. You are wildly entertaining. The dialogue is quick-moving, exciting, a bit challenging, which just makes it more interesting. I can see where the story is going to be 'peopled' with fae characters, including trolls, and heaven knows what more mythical creatures. This is going to be such fun. I expect you to keep writing to the end of this story. I'll keep coming back as long as you keep writing this one. I might even start writing myself. I loved it, Bob. I'll really look for errors and weak spots next time. I just wanted to enjoy this one. Didn't spot anything that needed changing. Great stuff!

I really enjoyed reading this, although it's the first chapter I've read. This is of course my own fault, but even so, an author's note reminding us who is what kind of person would be useful I feel. I especially liked your high percentage of dialogue.

This being the only chapter I've written, I suspect it's my fault you've not read more. Glad you enjoyed it

Ha, ha, ha hilarious story about brits who are generally known as drunk heads, fay that doesn't ever give you a straight answer; the general insults that are exchanged over a pint.

Fascinating tale!
"You're lumping all the fae together? Only my experience is, you ask four fae a question, you'll get six answers."
Loved this line(or lines)
I have to admit I was a little confused by the ending, but it is probably just me. LOL
Nothing to correct or suggest for improvements.
All the best,
Jan

You're very kind, thank you. Yes, I think there's a tad more to this scene, but I can only write in small bursts. We'll see what happens next
