A very well-written poem about the use of public transportation that is much harder than it seems. There are many unwritten rules commuters have to do to be respected by others using the same way of transport.

This speaks an awkward experience of using and travelling as a male passenger in a public transport; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Write to Inspire, Change.

Hi Phillip, You've just got this right, I love it. you describe commuting to perfection, and I love the way you observe all your fellow passengers surrounding you. They all have their quirks. I'm away travelling at the moment, but hope to post later this week. I'm glad to see your poem. All the bst. Ulla:))

Ha, ha, what a picture! As a veteran NYC subway rider I can surely relate. You can get an education from riding on the subway. I actually know a man who was found, abandoned, on a subway, as a toddler, then put up for adoption. Oh, if trains could talk!

Very interesting and observant, Phillip.
Public transportation is not always comfortable, but it's ecological and, as you insinuate, a writer can use his time on public transport to watch people.
Thanks for sharing.

When the public transportation is good, clean and cheap, we will all use it. This is how I feel about the tube on London Transport, it is a great way to get around. A fine richly worded write here Phillip, love Dolly x

Phillip,
hahahahaha I am so glad I don't have to deal with this stuff!! I am a lucky girl to live where I do. We just drive everywhere and it only takes a couple minutes to get anywhere - it's a tiny little town. I'm sure you big city folks would HATE it. hahaha
Enjoyed your poem and especially the rhyme combo of umbrella/salmonella. Very creative!
Thanks!

If you remember, Robyn, you helped me get started with poem writing with a rhymebrain--a thesaurus sit.

No one has helped, in my mind, me more than you. And yesterday, I learned this site has schooling, but for me, I don't have time for it. So, instead of directing me to something like that, you, with your good heart, did what no one else could or would do by welcoming me to this "mean world, of writing with nothing but goodness in you heart. I will never forget the experience, my Friend.

An introspective soul can might light of their circumstances. People are shocked when I tell my blind jokes but it seems to ease my surroundings when I can make everyone laugh. Everyone has a burden, whether it's seen or not.
Thanks for sharing. It was in good humor,
Sending you my best today as always,

Great job with this humorously observant and very true to life descriptions of what public transportation is like. When I used to commute regularly by light rail, it was exactly like that. Often it was two guys who just got out of jail talking loudly about life. Others didn't make any eye contact.
