You're still working your way through this story. And it look like Charles is about to propose to Helen, if he can find a cheap enough ring. Lol! I'm questioning the strength of his love. He's certainly not being swept away by it. Chapter 81. Wow! Big job. Good luck with such a monumental work.

Thanks for dropping back in here, Adrienne. The ?wedding? is just a subterfuge to keep them out of trouble with the Islamic morality codes. Living in sin in Pakistan can be dangerous. All good wishes, Tony.

Hello Tony,
Another excellent chapter that establishes the chaos and frenetic, seedy madness of the city and Liberty Market. It seems well-traveled Charles is no match for the local entrepreneurs. We've clearly entered a different world where Helen will likely prove to be of great importance.
It should be interesting to see what kind of salwar kameez Helen will buy. No doubt it will be a shocker.
Well done
Robert

Thanks for yet another shiny six. The subcontinent seems to be a dangerous place. I hope they manage to get to Chitral in one piece - and maybe back again!

LOL He's not quite the bargainer Helen is. I bet the DID get taken on the rings.
I loved this description: 'Helen and I clutched each other and prayed as the taxi darted from lane to lane like a knight traversing a chessboard.'
Also the one about them bouncing around in the cab in similar fashion to their previous airplane experience.
Nice use of humor to keep this going.

I jumped into this book at chapter 81. Despite the lack of context this resulted in, I found it easy and enjoyable to read. I was envious of the quality of your word usage, which brings the whole scene alive. Thanks for a good read.

-A good chapter, Tony, that follows
nicely from the previous one.
-It sounds like a swanky hotel
with a "prison like facade!"
-You give us a good sense
of the area, people, and the food.
-We see Charles giving the beggars some
money while Helen is saying "ignore them."
-Of course, he agreed with her, and no harm done!
-The scene with the jeweler was done well,
and Charles finally made a bargain.
-After all of that, plus dinner,
Helen was still not available.
-Hopefully, she is just trying on more outfits!

Hi Tony, Again, you've written a fine chapter which I really enjoyed to read.
Helen seemed to be in her element, whereas, Charles seems to be well out of his element. As you know, I love the story. I'm away on holiday at the moment, but I still hope to be able to be on the site once in a while during the next three weeks. All best. Ulla:))

Good chapter - lots of action - reasonable assumptions and good dialog. enjoyed this chapter. I forget what country they're in - Everything in this chapter makes sense.

Good story as usual. Engaging narrative. I as m concerned about Helen though and surprised that our hero with the hole in his pocket didn't go out back looking for her. In such an exotic locale it is not beyond the realm of possibility that Helen might turn up missing. Well written.!

Very many thanks for your review, Brenda. Appreciated. I suspect that Charles may not have been welcome in the fitting rooms at the back of the store! Perhaps I should have been more specific!

This is such a fascinating story, well written with details that only one who had experienced life there would probably know-or at least, that's the impression one gets! I enjoy reading these episodes, each one becoming progressively more interesting as the author weaves his story with a broad choice of words and expressions. Keep it coming!
