Hi Lisa I love this and congratulations on your worthy win I can identify with so much of your words and I do not apologise for just being me What you see is what you get LOL
I can procrastinate with the best of them and them be so organised its not funny I seem to be the matriach of my family (Sorry cant spell either Ha Ha) and am the one everyone comes to when their is an issue so that is OK I believe this is my job so don't worry . i can be the biggist ditts but really dont care And am really not that serious and tend to look at the best in people but can also be a little cynical at times which is often reflected on my poems and yet can bee deep and meaningful as well so I think we would get on well
enough rant well done A great post Cheers Chris

    I hear you.

    Do you know this poem, Waiting, by John Burroughs (1837-1921)?
    I wish I had written it myself.

    WAITING
    Serene, I fold my hands and wait,
    Nor care for wind, nor tide, nor sea;
    I rave no more 'gainst time or fate,
    For, lo! my own shall come to me.

    I stay my haste, I make delays,
    For what avails this eager pace?
    I stand amid the eternal ways,
    And what is mine shall know my face.

    Asleep, awake, by night or day,
    The friends I seek are seeking me;
    No wind can drive my bark astray,
    Nor change the tide of destiny.

    What matter if I stand alone?
    I wait with joy the coming years;
    My heart shall reap where it hath sown,
    And garner up its fruit of tears.

    The waters know their own and draw
    The brook that springs in yonder height;
    So flows the good with equal law
    Unto the soul of pure delight.

    The stars come nightly to the sky;
    The tidal wave unto the sea;
    Nor time, nor space, nor deep, nor high,
    Can keep my own away from me.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts through your poetry. You have obviously done a lot of homework on the subject and gave an in-depth description through your poem.

    Thanks for your comments, Sandra. I did the Myers Briggs test and there was a lot of information. It seems that some of the prompt entries didn't bother doing it but wrote their own version of themselves.

First of all - you have followed the rules of this contest accurately, unlike most of the other entrants who didn't take the test at all. And I understand totally where you are coming from - our daughter is an INFP, one of the most caring people on earth. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for sharing this piece in an honest and open way.

    Thanks, June. I bet your daughter keeps you on your toes. My 'caring' has led to me bringing all sorts of lame ducks home. I remember my mother telling me when I was a young teenager (she died when I was 15 so I must have been young) that I would be hurt often because I cared too much.
    I am intrigued why so many of the entries have ignored that the contest brief is specifically based on Myers Briggs personality profile... unless their type is to ignore instruction, be obtuse, and to get off target, or to make up their own rules.
    In a way, I felt quite vulnerable writing this piece because i wanted to be genuine and honest - another characteristic.

Excellent entry for this contest. You did a great job of talking about yourself in a creative way. I would give you six stars if I had it. Thanks for digging deep as a true INFP.

    Thanks for your comments. Several of the entries have avoided the intention of the contest entirely - that of the Myers Briggs types - but that probably speaks volumes about their own personality types!
    I exposed myself in quite a vulnerable manner by writing this poem as I have, but that was part of my being genuine and honest as well.

This is a fascinating posting...wish I had a six for it. My escape is into writing and it's partially because I'd rather be doing something alone than being around someone who is brash, opinionated, and demanding. Of course, I also feel the opposite way with adorable friends. Everything you've written and shared speaks volumes about your talent and motivation. Loved reading this!

    What a nice review; much appreciated. Your comment about valued friends is how I feel about mine too.
    I felt somewhat vulnerably exposed to post this personal inspection, but that is part of who I am also - to be genuine and honest.

    Those are terrific characteristics for anyone to have!

I enjoyed your profile and verse.

I am familiar with MBTI and actually organized a HR conference for a MBTI trainer-speaker. It was a fabulous program and the trainer, Otto Kroeger, had us laughing all the time when he profiled the characteristics of the 16 profiles.

I am an ENTP so we share some characteristics. My t-shirt, which I bought from his organization, shows a can of One-Up, which exemplifies my personality as always providing just another option to explore. LOL

You may get a kick at the t-shirts available online for your INFP profile.

Best wishes in the contest. I know it's really you!

    How interesting that you are so au fait with Myers Briggs. I have been self employed for most of my working life - I've never needed to check whether I would employ myself, so was unfamiliar with it.
    Your t-shirt 'can of one-up' for Mr Debater sounds perfect! I checked the t-shirts, they look fun, but if I wore my 'letters' everyone would start telling me about their sob stories and I would just have to take them home with me. I'd need a bigger house - or a different t-shirt would be cheaper.
reply by Mark D. R. on 08-Aug-2019
    I only wear occasionally, among the many t-shirts I have. Most people don't even comment on the MBTI one. LOL

Happy Thursday fellow poet. Thank you for sharing your work, now I will start looking to see what my personality type is. I know that I myself am an introvert, so it will be interesting to see what other personality traits, they say I have. I enjoyed your poem, the rhymes, structure, and subject matter were all nicely done. Good job.

    Hello! Thanks for your review. It is easy to check the Myers Briggs personality type as there are free online tests you can do then they give you the result immediately. I did one that had 66 questions in it, but it was done quite quickly. You will find it very revealing I think.

A very well-written poem about the real person behind what everyone sees. We are all uniquely different in personality and we learn to get along with others despite these differences, wherever possible to find common ground.

    Thanks for your review, Sandra. Wouldn't it be good if people concentrated on their similarities rather than their differences.
