As always Dennis, I enjoy reading your words of wisdom.

However, I have known for some time that John was not His favorite, because I am. I just know if God had a refrigerator, my picture would be on it. It took several years of counseling for me to understand my value in God's eyes. Now when I read the scriptures, I know that all He did, He did for all the world and He also would have done it just for me.

Blessings and thank you for sharing the message.
Janet

Yes, God sees all believers in Christ and so we are loved just as He is by the Father. Amazing grace!

There did seem to be a special connection with John. Maybe because he loved Jesus and didn't falter in his faith. I don't know. But it is a great example of a relationship with Christ that we can all enjoy. Well done. Rox

Rox, this is where our understanding of Christ can grow through the scriptural revelation.
John's special connection is open to ALL believers, just as John himself wrote as he recorded Christ's words: John 15:9 (NIV)
?As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love." God bless, Dennis

To me, the truth is we are the favorite's of Jesus for he shed his blood for all, especially the sinner. For though we are born without sin, we grow into sin until the day we find redemption in the blood of Christ.

We believers are all loved of the Father as if we were Jesus...however, we can and should grow in our grasp of that great fact through meditating on the Word of His grace. Thanks for reviewing!

I loved the ending since that is exactly what Christ told Saint Ignatius Loyola - "Remember, I loved you first." People often misinterpret 'humility' thinking it to be meek and submissive, it comes from the Greek meaning "grounded" or "connected to the earth". John Paul II and Mother Therese are both prime examples of the power of genuine humility in action - NEITHER could ever be considered meek or submissive :). This is very well done and I thank you very much for sharing it.

1 John 4:19 New King James Version (NKJV)
"We love Him because He first loved us."

Yes, and it is said of Moses he was the meekest man on earth and of course, Jesus is the epitome of meekness as He endured sinners in His earthly ministry He could have instantly removed.

    Thanks for your review. Dennis

Amen! Thank you so much for this delightful meditation! I know that God loves me and that really we all are "His favorite." And I love how you bring in John's epistles where he keeps harping on about Love! While I do know He loves us so much, I also know that some people love Jesus so much more than others. They are great role models as are you in sharing this post!

Yes - our sermon Sunday was on this subject - that no matter how bad or evil a person is - God's love and forgiveness can reach him/her. God seeks us out. That, to me, is amazing - that He would care for us.
Good essay - I enjoyed reading it.

A happy Tuesday to you Deniz22, thank you for sharing that with us. I found it to be very inspiring and uplifting. The sooner people realize that the creator loves all his creations and that we are all small parts that equal a whole, the better this place will be. Thanks again, good job!

Yes, our Creator loved us so much He gave His only Son to die for our sins so He could forgive us without compromising His own Holiness!

We sin against Him, ourselves and others if we fail to hear and believe the good news of the Gospel! God bless you and thanks for reviewing! Dennis

Yes, move over because He loves me the most! It just feels that way as He has done so much for me. I was just re-counting today all the wonderful things he had done for me and how grateful I am to belong to Him. I was most glad to see your post and so encouraged to read this.
Sending you my best today, my brother, from a very loved place.

A very well-written spiritual piece about the Apostle John and Jesus Christ who were very close to one another but they were two different. John proclaimed that he bears the light but he is not the Light, which is Jesus Christ.

Like Apostle John who claimed Jesus loved him first, we may think we love Jesus because Jesus first loved us, well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Keep Writing, Inspiring, Changing
