Two characters,one Daniel and the other his father Samuel. The child is asking the father to clarify certain points about truth. "Truth is beauty and beauty is truth'. so finally Only God knows truth ..all the best

Thank you for letting us know "your truth about the truth". An it is fully respectable and valid as any other, You really choose a wise approach about a character that asks questions and the other one trying to find answers (as per his knowledge of life). No one can answer "What is the truth?" In its full extension as you may need as many volumes as an encyclopedia. This is your view, and I agree with it and your use of a dialogue to approach the truth was a great point as you peel the subject like an onion, layer by layer.

You have described man's yearning for truth. I believe this is a universal quest. I agree it is not connected to religion or self-help. It is between a man and his god.

One could describe the word of God as being truth, but folk don't want the truth, because it reveals sin, and men want to exist in darkness, because truth is light, and reveals sin, Jesus describes Himself as "the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to God except through Him" truth is an absolute, and truth dies not dwell in man. Well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing with us. I am positive God knows the truth and is the truth. He just doesn't share it with us. We are probably no where close to being ready for the truth.

A thoughtful discussion. In the first exchange, ""Father, what is truth?" Daniel asked his father, Samuel.", you've established the fact there are only two participants in this dialog, Daniel and his father, Samuel. From that point you could delete all the dialog tags. By using a tag with each exchange, they become distracting. Except for the first, delete most, if not all of the rest.
"Samuel told his son, Daniel." In this tag, you state the obvious. If you keep this tag, delete "his son".

I think you are right, only God knows the truth and we are unable to understand Gods truth. I had to think of scripture when "Pontius Pilot"
responded to Jesus, "What is Truth."

I enjoyed your father and son discussion about the definition of truth. I would think truth has to be an absolute and there can be no variations of it. The Bible say's "I am the way, the truth, and the light." In that sense Christ is the definition of truth.

The word play here around that word 'deffinition' was great and all the repetitions created a nice rhythm that danced around itself. It was like going in circles and in the end, we have no answer to the question, what is truth? I think it speaks of the feeling we have that we have an incomplete vision of the world, we get only glimpses of the whole picture, and it is hard for us to envision the whole, but we can imagine it. estory
