This septolet, Body and Mind, has the proper formatting and seems to view the confused mind and body as one begins outperforming the other.

You did a good job with your contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. Your art choice is a good pairing with your well-chosen words. I like the comparison of how the old and the young see the same thing but act differently. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

I live this on a daily basis. We all do at some point. You took something we all face and used it to connect us through words.

Very well done. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

It's so off-putting when your oldest son says "after all I'm nearly 60 and need to be thinking about my future." When - did this kid get to be this age. And now he must be concerned about his retirement. I'm just not quite ready for our children to be this old and racing against fading time.

This posting really hits home. My memory is playing games on me more and more often. My bones are starting to rebel over the many years of abuse. I am, however, still waking up in the mornings so everything is good. This is a successful Septolet poem and I wish you the best in the contest!

Ah, maybe bones, body and mind are all not going in the same direction as Time ... if so, Time may get there sooner which then complicates the formula where speed can vary from crawling to racing. I'm lost! - Lobber

A very creative septolet as far as subject content. The two halves flow very well together. The artwork very nicely compliments your words. I see nothing that I would change and wish you the very best with this entry!

A very well-written poem and the fight between the body and mind. The mind still wants to do the things when the body was young and fit, but the body fades quicker and can't keep up with the mind anymore.

As they say, Old age isn't for sissies. The dilemma of bodies wearing out before minds go is something many struggle with in senior years. Keeping a young mind at least keeps more options open than having a mind that Alzheimer's has destroyed. Your poem is topical as the statistics become skewed with more and more in the aging demographic.

Great artwork. Body vs mind- I like the title.  It suggests to an internal struggle which you speak of in your poem.  The internal struggle of aging and physical effects.  Nicely done.
