The gardens are always decorated with gnome but not real talking ones. Interesting story about the previous groundskeeper. They evidently were glad that he was gone.

Very exciting, indeed, and the humor continues... Mr. Thrasher is G-Trash to Constantine! I love fantastical stories, with gnomes and disappearing doors! I especially like the white beard, braided in three. Very creative, Lady Yvette!

Indeed, how hard can it be to water a few plants. Ha, ha, ha. This is beginning to sound a lot like "The Secret Garden" but a bit (a lot bit) more fantastical. This is an extremely imaginative start to the book proper - a shifting garden shed (or at least the door leading to it) and plants worthy of a children's fairy tale.

Well, the prologue presents a few mysteries. It seems a group exists there that are not known of by Sir Philippe. So the new Groundskeeper is confronted with a few unknown surprises. Fun times ahead!
