Interesting. She must be an old hen by now having laid so many eggs since the average hen lays between 300 and 325 a years taking 24 to 26 hours to lay just one. I assume she will be at the end of her egg laying cycle soon since each hen is born with a specific number of eggs they can lay in their lifetime - like humans. Nicely done and thank you for sharing it.

The premise of the story is amusing. I just read another story by you about another dream. Since this isn't a contest entry with a strict word count restriction you could use the word do before none. I hope i wrote a correct review.

I enjoyed reading this. Our son and his wife, with our grandson have four hens only, no rooster. They still lay eggs. As I read this and looked at the picture it made me think of our son's four hens that we take care of and love so much. Thank you for sharing this and making me smile tonight! Blessings, Teri

I don't know if I got it right, but does the hen really have all those kids? How many of those eggs did you eat for breakfast? I'm imagining a few chicken dinners too. Maybe there just aren't that many left. Anyway, it was a fun read and that's the important thing.

Hi there, this was a funny little piece. It was refreshing to see that you can write something other than God. I liked it. It was short but sweet. A great little flash. All best. Ulla:)))

I love this tiny little write. It made me smile and think. So short, but witty and deep.
In fact not any one can answer her question. She is firstly lucky to be alive and had not been roasted or off..d or macdonalded.no one called her those names because there's no one there to call her.
Good old rooster, remind me of my own village.

There is no doubt in my mind that your amusingly quirky story is fiction. it is clear that the prolific talking hen of which you wrote, in truth, does not exist. I suspect you may not even own a hen, Alcreator, my friend.

Well done. A very funny post indeed, the logical conclusion one draws from this hilarious post, is the irony of having so many offspring and offspring's offspring, is not lost on me, I wonder how many became chicken soup? Well done, good work, blessings, Roy

I like your poultry offering to the humour category. So many eggs! At the rate of one a day, that hen is getting to be an old one and having to crank out bigger and bigger eggs. And the rooster just crows about his part in it.
