I am reading these chapters in backwards order it seems. But it doesn't hurt one bit because they are so well-written and very enjoyable to read. I don't know where you pick these stories out of your brain, but keep it up!! They are delightful!

You chose a great place to stop! Now what I am going to do till you write the next bit? lol

Just two small points:

Eric stood his bike up and stroked the strange looking box - I would have hyphenated 'strange looking'

'The only sign of life nearby came from a small log cabin. The smoke from the chimney was the only evidence that someone was at home.' - getting really picky but there are two 'only's' quite close. I might have changed the second sentence a bit. Of course, it's just a personal thing but it did make me pause. :)

Thank you so much for going back and reviewing this chapter, Judy, and pointing out those nits. I totally agreed with you on both counts and have changed them. It's those little things that I miss at times and need someone with a sharp eye to find them for me. So a HUGE thank you! You don't have to wait, the next part is already posted and I'm keen to see if you find anything that jumps out at you. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Seems to flow very well. I like the choice of names, because it seems as if anyone of any age would relate to the characters. A horse from another time is also intriguing, because on the one hand, a horse is still a horse, but those of us who are horse lovers will want to know more. I only found two or three words which reminded me this is UK English, so it could definitely be shared anywhere! Nice going.

-Very good image and story, Sandra.
-I like how you begin with
the possibility of seeing Drozig.
-He and his son were very nice characters.
-But, Herbie and Eric are off to the days
of the West, as Herbie scans the horse.
-I also like how Eric explains
what amounts to time travel,
and Herbie comments on the Gizmo.
-The horse is fixed up, and when
they settle in the new surroundings,
they don't see too much, but
the horse finds it very familiar.
-However, someone was not expecting
visitors, and we wait to see who it was
that fired a shot and why!

I'm really pleased you like the way the story has started, Pam, and the way things are happening. Now the introductions are almost there, the story will begin to take shape. I'm delighted you are enjoying it. I've been working on the next part these last two days. I think it's almost ready. :)) Thank you so much, my friend, and a huge hug for all those pretty stars! Love Sandra xxxx

Hello Sandra,
So we've arrived in the not too wild west. Not yet anyway.
Excellent set up of the story line. Previous readers will know
about Herb and Giz, now new ones do also.
Just the right touch of humor that kids will relate to,
and the horse understands English. I wonder if it talks.
Oh crikey, another perfect ending.
Even Mildred would smile at "Oh crikey."

Maybe you could send me one of those protector, time-traveling gizmo thingies. I could make very good use of a time jumping gizmo.
Well done.
Robert

Yes, it was a bit of a let down really. Eric believed he was going to be in the thick of it, but there was nothing there! Lol. It's going to hot up soon. I had to laugh at the Mildred part, yes, she would, wouldn't she? I never thought of that. lol! I wonder why my books are always about time travel, it was intentional. Perhaps I come from the future???? I'll have to look to see if my Gizmo is here somewhere, and, NO, sorry, if there was one here, it would be used by MOI! There are loads of places I'd like to go to.
Thank you so much for the sox stars, my friend, and this lovely, fun review. Big hugs!! :)) Sandra xxx

This is well written and thoroughly engaging. You deliver a SPAG free piece which allows the reader to completely immerse themselves in the story without any distractions. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

I dont think the UK English detracts from the story. I love time travel stories. One piece of advice, you might want to take a look at Old West jargon before you get into interactions between Eric and the settlers.

Thank you for that, Earl, I had a look on line to see if there was a site that gave me the info, and there is. I'll be using that a lot! The story is for middle group children, 9 - 14 (and old children like me) Thank you for reading this part and for the tip, that's what I needed. :) Sandra xx

This is a wonderful chapter to the book. I feel this is more of a book for a younger person. I think it is cute that Herbie is a drone, and from another planet. This is very good. Well done.

Thank you, Sandra. Yes, Eric is my 11-year-old grandson, and is dyslexic. He starts a special needs school in September so we are all hoping it will be a big help. He asked me if I'd write a book about him having adventures, so I wrote, Eric and the Aliens. Now he wants more! His new school headmaster went to see my son and daughter-in-law two weeks ago to have a personal chat about Eric and he saw my book. Chris told him how it came about and he has ordered some for the school. I'm hoping he'll get some of this one too when it's done. Thank you, my friend, I'm glad you are with me for this story. Big hugs. :)) Sandra xx

Hooray!! So, I get to pick up at the beginning now! :) This will be fun with a bicycle in the 'frontier days'... :) A great beginning, even for those of use who were not familiar with the first book, it was easy to 'fall into' the characters and the action! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing and I look forward to more! ;) :) Yvette :)
