Oh Sally, how'd you know I love these stories. I absolutely do. I've never forgotten the Greek tale of the strangers who visited a couple and after offering them food and drinks, upon the strangers' departure found that their humble provisions had increased.

Your story, as well as that story, remind me to always be kind to the less fortunate and to feed the hungry.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and generous six stars. What an unexpected treat so late in this story ?s honorable mention. I guess it?s still up on the FanStory homepage. I am deeply honored, Sandra, and so pleased you liked my story with a heavenly twist.

Hi Sally,
What a compelling kind of 'angel of mercy' story in the person of
traveling physician, Dr. Sedrick McGrath; and the surprise, miraculous
healing of Proprieter's son. Intuitively a divine providence stop within
his intuitive cues within him. And all this suspense and drama in
this fascinating 5-75-poem. Congrats on the win!
Sorry for late review dear, been taking a bit longer vacation time
this year. Thanks for sharing this great story. Miracles do happen!
Love, Ronni

It's crazy. You never know I guess. I'd be skeptical though, I'd probably laugh if someone said they could heal someone like that. I'd probably do the sure you can and wait for them to fail. lol. You did a great job with this and it's a kind of faith I want to have and believe in.

Hi Sally, I like this story. It's a great flash story and with a surprise ending. So something magic is happening here. Yeah, I suppose, that if your belief is strong enough something like this could happen. Well written, and good luck. Ulla xxx

Luke 4:10 He put angels around you to protect you from harm. The angels do the work of God. When the work there is little memory of the ever having appeared.
Good story.

A well written story that tells the story of a miracle in easy, smooth flowing prose. The local colour is brilliantly symbolized by the dish of "coddled pork." I looked it up out of curiosity!

Nice contrast between the owner's disappointment at the doctor's no show and the boy's amazing cure. God works in mysterious ways.

I liked that the tavern made extra money as well. Divinity gives more than is asked.

Blessings Julia

Such a wonderful and inspirational story, Lady Sal -- and I know it's fiction, but you are right: there are so many things we hear and read (and experience!!) about angels among us!! ;) ;) This was a wonderful illustraton! :)
I did have one suggestion, and please feel free to ignore. I've copied what you have and then put my suggestion below it:

coffee. The traveling physician had missed his midday meal; sensing this stop was divine providence.

He could almost taste the savory pork

Thanx for sharing, Beautiful Lady, and best of luck in the contest! ;) ;) Yvette :)
*Sorry behind on reviews...just getting home from my youngest's 2-day college orientation (and of course travel time!) plus prep for same's wisdom teeth removal early Monday....can you say 'no time on computer'....LOL!

Hmm, angels driving Renaults--who'd've thunk?
Good entry for the Flash contest.
I made a few notes as I read.

Best of luck.

Peace, Lee

Those bloody specialists have taken all our money, too. --missing an end quote.

He placed the food on the bar, looking to see if he had returned. -- The two 'he's in this sentence seem too much. Perhaps you can substitute 'the doctor' for the second 'he'?

Pat looked around for Dr. McGrath, --The doctor never mentioned his name. How did Pat know it?

Before I forget, great choice in picking Cleo for the visual. Sometimes her(?) work picks ME when I am looking for just the right thing. This is wonderful and so deserving of a six! Secret! I do believe there are Angels among us. Sincerely, I do. Sometimes I do not notice right away, but the thought catches up with me later. You have produced a fantastic, well-written example, could even be classed as realistic fiction, because some miracles COULD be coincidence, but I am a strong believer that coincidence is often miracle. Great job!
Wendy

Thank you so much Wendy dear for the excellent review and insightful comments. Yes, miracles are all around heavenly and sometimes God just uses a special person to pass on a miracle when it?s needed. My husband stopped the other night in a parking lot and gave a woman sitting on the curb some money for her dinner. Angels come in all forms and can appear at any time. :+) Like you!
