Just reading another of your works. I love this. You lend such mystical and magical feeling to the sunset and the rise of the moon. You definitely like myths and legends.

This is incredibly beautiful. I have never heard of this form and I applaud you for executing it beautifully.

Best wishes with the contest. I can understand why it would definitely win.

I love this form, and am sad to say I've never heard of it before. Yours is especially beautiful with its gorgeous imagery and elegant words. I want to try one soon. Should I send a PM when I do? Thanks for the inspiration and congratulations on the POM nomination. It is a winner, no matter what. Truly beautiful in every way. MM

Hello Yvette,

I missed reading this poem when it was first released. What a fascinatig poetry form. It is new to me, and I love that most. I'm always on the lookout for newer poetry forms to try. I shall make notes for this one.

You have described a lovely scene. My favorite moments are the first and last line.

Congratulations on the nomination, and best wishes in the voting booth.

Sincerely Joy xx

I'm in! I've written the rules in my poetry forms book... yup I keep one of those... (do you have any idea how many forms of poetry there are??? I never did!) This is cool though... Turn of the Century poetry... a few centuries ago... lol LOVE IT! Yours is great! :)

So glad you enjoyed my zejel experiment, Lady S -- ran across the form when I was doing a little reading before the orientation last weekend and thought I'd give it a try! :) I love these varied forms that don't have a "ta-tum" requirement to them...some of us just are NOT good at the 'ta-tum' thing like you talented poets out there... :) :) :) LOL! :) Have a great week, ma'am! ;) ;) Yvette :)

I am NOT always good at the Ta Dum thing... that would be Dolly... she probably speaks in the Ta Dum thing! LOL

When I started to be really be interested in writing poetry I joined FS so I could read a lot of items. For the past 6 months I have immersed myself in reading and thinking about poetry. It has amazed me what a 'foreign language' it can be with so many poetic formats to get my head around. So I mostly don't. If I had to concentrate on a strict format, as well as trying to get my thoughts down I would still only have produced a handful of poems. However, I have the utmost respect and admiration and open-mouthed amazement at how you can make these forms look effortless... delicious to read and with such fresh imagery. So well done.

Thanx for your wonderful review, L-M .... and, I gotta say, that in many ways, you and I are very much alike: I, too, struggle with the more "formalist-style" poems especially with the 'tee-tum, tee-tum' requirement....I suck at those!! ;) ;) I picked up on this one because it only had the syllable requirement written into it.... :) ;) You take care out there, ma'am, and have a great week! ;) Yvette

*Sorry behind on replies?slowly catching up life this weekend ?.can you say ?no time on computer? lately?.LOL!

Poems like the rondeau stretch the creative muscles, because if one doesn't choose a common rhyme word, it becomes difficult. It looks like this could be a challenge, but not bad. But beautfully written Yvett, I migh give it a lash, but I've got a backlog of other forms, well done, great job, I've never seen this one before, blessings, Roy

Glad you enjoyed my silly experiment, Sir Roy -- it was a great form for the blonde who cannot seem to master those 'ta-tum, ta-tum' writes that you real poets seem to do so easily! ;) ;) Glad to hear that you might try it later.... For now, you take care of you and your family and have a wonderful remainder of the week! ;) ;) Yvette

Beautiful poem about how everything shuts down at night I could almost see it!
I see that it is a different form of poetry. I'm a stick in the mud. I'll fight tooth and nail to stay where I'm comfy. Although since I joined this group I have learned and am learning so much.
Nice poem!
Patty
