I have just chanced upon your poem... no wonder it won the contest! The proximity of positive and negative emotions are put together here in a very skilful manner, incorporating the required contest words effortlessly.

Girl, sorry it took so long for me to get to this. WOW!! Congrats on the win but I can see why!!! You are just a passionate little kitten! LOL! This is so cool. Your free verse rocks and screams of familiar truth. Your art was very powerful. Loved the formatting. Clearly a winner. AWESOME!!! Extremely well done. Can't say enough about how much I loved this. xx oo Lynda

Your ultra-concise poem skillfully uses the four required words to convey
how powerful emotions can be and how one strong emotion can morph
into another, sometimes not for the better.

This is a great piece using all the required words! Perfect artwork to highlight the well arranged words to paint a painful picture of betrayal. Well done.

That is a sensational write. You have used the required words in a stunning fashion. To complete the poem so briefly adds to the work's merit. I also loved the message the poem sends. It transcends the story of love completely.

Thank you so much, Bob! This is my first attempt at writing from a ?prompt?! I love free verse because it allows me to think outside the poetry box! I appreciate immensely that you enjoyed! :)

How indeed! The passion of love that overtakes one is so all encompassing as to leave the mind sterile and later when reasonableness returns to their life the truth may rear its ugly head in some cases where love is blind. The greater the passion the deeper the betrayal and the hurt turns to hate in the twinkling of an eye.

Wonderful picture that compliments your words. Great poem, if I had them I would give you 6 stars.

This is the chilling reality of cooling ardour! Strong emotions like love pivot between extremes. Fire and ice make good metaphors for it. Good luck in the contest. I enjoyed your poem.

I believe as you've stated so eloquently, that the fire can be ignited by trust, passion, and love. That same fire can be diffused and turned to ice by mistrust, lies, and betrayal. I enjoyed reading this passionate and well written work. Well done!

May I ask how old you are? I read your haiku about your brother and it sounds like you are younger.

I am 10 years old. So you are correct.

Excellent use of the required words. A great description of how so many relationships start in fire and end in numbing cold. Powerful message that flows well and read equally well both silently and out loud. Hugh
