A good story, but I wonder if you could have given one slight hint early on. Altho it's a surprise ending story. On the other hand, you might have said, "he stared at the cheerful yellow beauty I admired every day."
Felt like it needed a hint. But very good story.

You had me fooled. I was thinking about a strong, little girl but it's a strong flower growing through asphalt. That's such an amazing sight - Nature showing us that she'll outlast us. Fun story.

You did not fool me this time a flower is just a flower. A flower struggling to survive the asphalt highway. But, is this an example that you can overcome anything if you have the will.
