Stay away from the cool kids... they will only embarrass to make themselves look cooler (at least that's my experience - lol!). Enjoyed this one, sir -- and you are SO RIGHT about the fonts! :) I cannot even begin to read many of the ones that look more like a large block of gray lines than writing! ;) ;) Even if they would put some 'spaces' here and there it would be easier to read! ;) Soooo....have I reached my 150 words yet...? LOL! ;) ;) Thanx for the smile and the bluntness -- take care! ;) ;) Yvette :)

Yes, sometimes, writing 150 characters is hard when the post is just six words. You can always talk about the weather after you said your review.
And for getting more reviews, I recommend following people who review a lot. Check out who are the top ten in reviewing and see if you like their works. If you review them, they are most likely to review back.

"Then there are the people the either do not care" (maybe "that either" instead of "the either" or simply replace "the people the" with "those who")

And for getting more reviews, I recommend following people who review a lot. Check out who are the top ten in reviewing and see if you like their works. If you review them, they are most likely to review back.

I know I'll never be one of the cool kids because I write prose. Poems get a lot more reviews.
I always use a big font because I like it like that, but now you have given me another reason to do it.

I am at the same age as you and do agree with what you say. We seniors do have problems with our aging sight and would appreciate larger size fonts.

My slang is somewhat older than yours, and if my post warrants advanced editor usage, it's 14 point letters....but as at any public school, it is well nigh impossible to get in with the in crowd, you must be born there. An excellent bittersweet ramble for a steamy day.

This is a very interesting post! What you wrote could be most of our thoughts as well. My favorite is the 15 0 words for reviews. So often, like you, I find myself writing much longer paragraph than the actual post was. Not saying the posts aren't well written but some don't achieve as higher as some but by the time I get done writing it's like I'm writing for the Golden Globe! I finally figured it out why some have little clips at the end of their review it's to help meet the required word count! LOL

Well, I would say your rambles make great sense. I too complain about the size of the font some writers use. When I do, they usually produce something written in the same size font. How hard can it be to adjust the color or font size to make it easily readable? I agree about breaking up writing into paragraphs or stanzas. A few poets will ramble on and on without a break. I also think there must be some secret society on FS, as the same people seem to get the most reviews and are most likely to win the contests. We just have to keep plugging away, I suppose, and say we write for our own satisfaction. judi

Many folk who get more reviews down the pages have built up a bit of a following over time, I think. It's not a clique as such but folk know their work. Also, if you've been around a while, you may have a big fan list.
The font thing is interesting. I started using a size 16 for this very reason. many posts I have to enlarge myself on screen. it's not difficult to do.
There's not much we can do about folks who don't know about thoughts, sentences and paragraphs unfortunately. lol
