Dear RPSaxena,
Your flash fiction story is well written and excellent. It is clear no one would choose a persistent living death--a life of unhappiness and disappointment. I wish you the best in winning the contest. Deborah

    Hello DeborahWrite,
What a pleasant Review having so flowery wording, and that too at such a time!

Well done and good luck in the contest. As we grow older folks seem to drift away. True friends stick together as time ticks on. getting older is a living hell as the body breaks down and maladies chase us from being part of the society we knew so well. Liked you write so much and can understand because I'm nearly there.

I enjoyed your story. It's rough getting older but not any wiser I'm finding. I guess Fake death could be much worse! Nicely written. "Keep right on writing!"

A very well-written seventy-five word flash fiction about being alive but seen as not capable of handle your own affairs, it seems to someone looking on how others would treat his belongings when he is actually dead.

The last paragraph confuses me. Is there a sign announcing the closing?
Who is speaking the words of the final sentence?
Perhaps you can make this more clear. Just a suggestion.
Peace, Lee

    Hello Humpwhistle,
Thank you very much for your so nice, detailed, and thoughtful review.
As regard your Question, It's the Protagonist ( Jovial Neighbor ). Please go through the last two paragraphs, correlating them and I'm sure, you will feel satisfied.

You noted one of the flaws each of us have. For this character, thin-skinned makes him sensitive to unfavorable comments from his family. Great example. Strong possibilities for a great story.

Hi Rpsaxina, I really liked the 'moral' of your story... I'm not really sure about how you got there... but I totally agree with your conclusion. We die a thousand times before we die. At least I think we do... and each one feels as if it's an eternity, from the first time we scrape a knee and it's the end of the world! ;)

An interesting fash fiction. I was a little confused by the way you have punctuated the final paragraph, but I think I get the general idea. Giving up doing something we love because we are no longer capable is certainly a harrowing form of living death.

I guess one could say, that depression, or habitual offence, are a hell of our choosing, they say that depression is an illness, whereas one man said he decided he didn't want to be depressed any, more, he thought it was normal for him, one day he said, "I'm tired of being depressed" result...he wasn't! Well done RP, A brilliant 75 word entry in this contest, excellent job, good luck, blessings, Roy

Misery can be a living death and your words are so appropriate and honest. We do have the power to change these things in life, but there is no power when we are dead, I enjoyed your philosophy here, love Dolly x
