Aww, Rachelle, are you going to carry on with this story? I hope so, you've left it at a really emotional point and I want to learn more about Vincent, and what the case is at court. This is a really superb First Chapter for the contest, and I wish you loads of luck in it, but, please continue with it!!! :)) Sandra xx

I have ten chapters of it written, and my goal is to finish it this summer (and have the very talented Michele Harber edit it.) So thank you, sincerely, for the validation and encouragement, Sandra. I couldn't appreciate it more. xo

That's brilliant! Who is MicheleHarber? Is she on here, or is she a private editor? I wish you all the luck with it. :)) xx

She's on here, and she is EXCEPTIONAL!! Definitely consider her if you need any editing done. Rama just finished my Lessons in the Key of Life book, and, of course, she is outstanding, too. This site has a LOT of editing talent, it seems!! xo

I'm hooked now. Let's get on with the next chapter. 8-) I've known children like Vincent. I drove a school bus for fifteen years.

I was a little unclear about Meg who is pregnant with Adrianna.

It's a twenty-seven year memory, so Adianna is the third child, her daughter, Vincent and Joseph's sister.

A day in the life of Meg with a glimpse into her past and a question. What did Vincent do and how did he die. Like the bartender said in Irma La Duce, that's another story.

I thought Vincent was dead, but perhaps not in Meg's mind. This intro makes me curious to learn what the boy's problems were and how he got into trouble, perhaps even killed. It's not clear, but that keeps me wanting to read on to understand. A child with mental/emotional problems is a heavy topic for a book. Thankfully, you only needed chapter one. :)

He is dead, but his memories keep bubbling up for Meg. He doesn't have mental or emotional problems, but he's impulsive, with a temper, and makes bad choices, all of which get him into bad situations.

Thank you for reading this, Phyllis, and I appreciate your feedback. xo
