I enjoyed this short story.
Nice twist - I was definitely under the impression that the star of the story was a lithe bodied goddess, gifted at making men feel adored!
Why is it when there's a dog around, everyone wants to give it a treat?!
That runner's body will get podgy given too many cocktail sausages!

Everyone wants the dog to feel loved...and BE loved by the sweet, selfless creature. But you're right: too many cocktail sausages make for podgy pets!!!

You simply don't understand my POV. I have a wife, two grown daughters, four granddaughters (various ages) all beautiful, smart, strong...I'm already full of undermining niggles :)
