Short, sweet, and full of love -both this poem as well as your sweet feline! They certainly can make short work of us, can't they? And to that, I say, "Thank goodness!" Wonderful piece. Best of luck in the contest. xo

What a wonderful poem, Debra. So glad your kitty is with you and that you have each other. All of my animals come to me in a similar way. Great job. Marilyn

This fifteen - syllable poem, Finding Home, presented in two lines and fourteen words, reveals the uniting of a cat and someone with a cat-shaped hole in their heart needing filling.

He's so cute! I found mine under a bush by the pool.
That's what happens with these fluffy toys: we fall in love with them.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

So you pick up stray cats routinely just to write a FS verse? Ideas for poems come from our imagination or reality - good for you!

Nice illustration to accompany your sweet little poem

Awww... how very sweet!!! I sure do know how that can happen! :) This is a well-written 15-syllable poem. I've had almost the same experience. I was living in a frat during the summer one year. A girl down the hall 'rescued' a kitty from the roadside. She'd keep it in her room, full of fleas, no company for days at a time. I finally rescued it from her.

Hi :) Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I'm glad you rescued the poor kitty - it was surely no better off cooped up on its own than it was beside the road...! Best wishes...

Very nice poem and Cat and it's identical to my Cat except for the white paws. Glad she made it and wonder if he will stay, ps mine is a girl. Kind regards Colin

This work has reached the exceptional level

I enjoyed reading your delightful short poem in perfect syllable count. Telling a story in poetic style is always a challenge. Telling it in 15 syllables is a minor miracle, but you made it look easy.

I had the same experience years ago. Other cats joined the household over time, but none took Tigger's place in my heart.

Wishing you well in the prompt.

Dear Mystery Poet,

Two hearts find each other and create a home. What more could anyone ask for? This is sweet, simple and to the point. Good luck in the voting!
