CIAO Tempeste: I know that you are brave. But I never thought that you are tough...for a girl that is. I call a girl like you, "Hard Candy." When I was a kid in the candy store, hard candy was my favorite. And guess what. It's still my favorite today. Thank you for sharing your thrilling days of your yesteryear. "My ribs, arm, and my leg bleeding...an ambulance I won't be needing. I'm okay, momma, a Band Aid...a plop of iodine, a smooch on my cheek...and I'll be fine." Ha ha ha...that's my girl. God bless you, Tempeste. Ciao, my friend. Cordially: rhonnie69.

I'll be honest at the time I didn't worry about getting hurt ..it was all about the adrenaline rush .. Seeing those huge truck wheels (eye level)passing by.... The drivers hooting their disapproval..

Often I took my father's bike ..at least both his brakes worked.

On mine I used to use my feet and the one brake in use to stop.

Best time of my life ..

The same highway is a lot quieter since they built a new elevated highway on the mount behind the lake..

Glad you liked the poem ..

    Ciao Lynda !

Thank you so much for the enthusiastic review and the six star vote ....I'm glad that the poem made such a good impression on you.

Out of the blue , I started thinking in rhyme at the end of last July ...and I haven't stopped since .. It's like a drug ( biggrin).

    I wish you a peaceful Sunday !

Ps. The picture is of Lake Maggiore (North of Italy )during a thunder storm .

When there is storm within, man makes such mistake, being unattended and careless at the situation, though somehow accident was passed luckily; well said, well done. Write to inspire, change -- DR ALCREATOR

Is this what they can storm chasing? In America they have some terrible storms and the worst one I have seen is in Spain once when the water was literally running down the city streets, riding a bike in the rain must have been most exhilarating as well as terrifying, you captured the scene in your words here, love Dolly x

Maybe if I had not been trapped in a boarding school from age 6and 1/2 to 21 I might have been different but ️come the Summer holidays I just loved racing with my bike specially in stormy weather...and there are a lot towards the end of August going into September.

It was emotionally exciting and when you're young you do wild things without thinking you can get hurt.

I have no idea how the weather was in the 70/80s back then in America.

Due to climate change I do believe storms now reach a more violent level in the last 20 /25years in your country.

In the last 10 years there has been a big change in the weather in my region too

..but in my youth /adolescent days stormy weather was not a bad thing because its force was contained and despite the thunder-lightening and rainfall no really damage occurred.
