Hi, Earrl Yes, I certainly did enjoy this very much. I am so glad you gave us a little glossary after the poem too that sort of identified each of your gunfighters

I liked these lines especially well:

"What remains to be seen,
How shady was Judge Roy Bean
It would be very insane,
Not to include Calamity Jane,"

Good job, my friend. Bob

You have a writing voice that is recognizable in your posts, I guess. For me at least. LOL :) Bob

A fun read as you incorporated the men who have become caricatures in so many movies. Amazing how these outlaws have become heroes over time. So -- which one won the title "tougher by far" than the others? Good luck in your contest.

Wow, so many western personalities. I forgot how many westerns there were both about real and imaginary cowboys and gunslingers.
It is great that you found rhymes for all of them.
Good luck and keep writing

A fun cowboy poem. Well written with good rhyming. Appropriate artwork to compliment the story. I learned a couple of names previously unknown to me. Good luck.

Excellent. I really did enjoy reading this. I grew up reading westerns, you hit a bunch of characters that I read about when I was a kid. I liked the pace and rhyming. Ending was great. Hugh

Hi Mystery Writer :)

I enjoy a good western in any format. I think you have done just that, given us a story in the history of the old west. Wouldn't it be fantastic if in today's society we still could live with the ruggedness of the true West? I don't know, it might be fun to be remembered because I actually lived a life note worthy. Good luck in your contest. This is a fab entry. xoxo Kiwi

Nicely done - when writing about the "celebs" of the old west, I think a lot of writers glamorized them quite a good bit. Oh well, they made good stories. But to know these men - to see them in person - could have been pretty disappointing.
Nice poem

I think you're right. Davy Crockett wouldn't have been as animated as Fess Parker. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

One of my very favorite movies is Tombstone with Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp. My favorite line, Wyatt telling Ike Clanton to tell the Cowboys he was coming for them, "You tell'em I'm coming, and hell is coming with me." With all the gun fights Earp was in he was never even grazed by a bullet. A fun poem of famous gun fighters. Hope you do well in the contest.

Wow, if I wasn't planning to put this wonderful western poem in my bookcase for any other reason, I' have to keep it simply for historical reference. This excellent! Best of luck in the booth!

I can't -- this is a blind contest entry. I have no idea who you are.
