I enjoyed your contest entry, chip. The presentation is super--the color scheme, the picture, and the formatting of your words. All work together to create a great poem. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Good example of the synonym poetry prompt! I imagine every defendant must feel this way...talk about a crap shoot! I can not get three grandchildren to agree on a dessert! Twelve strangers with my freedom to decide? Scary!--Karenina

"What Say You?", is short, succinct and very much to the point. Woven between each word of this talented poet's work are the golden threads of truth. To me, this is definitely a six, but sadly I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Good use of your selected illustration to amplify your four line poem. Innocent and guilty were good antonyms to use. Not sure if the jury's look is the best indicator of the defendant's guilt or not (-:

My guess this may have been a scene from an old movie still, but without notes I am unsure.

Thanks anyway for your verse.

Thanks, Mark. I need to be more diligent with notes. It's an actual courtroom scene, but I have no additional details other than that fact and that it's in the public domain.

justice is serve, justice is proclaim, and justice is innocent till proven guilty. your poem was serve with a purpose and that purpose was the creativity of your talent. thanks for the read. "your so vein" means mood or humor.

Chip--
I like this and I think I understand it, but why it needs to be just four lines I don't know. The rules here are so...you name it. Short poems, as you may note are not my thing. Thanks though, I think you make your point well.

Best

Nicely done. The poem follows format and tells a story. It is very easy to understand. I am not that familiar with the styles of poetry but I am learning through the descriptions.

This seems like a technically difficult form to compose, and have it have a very dramatic impression on the reader, but you have done it. This is a great entry for the contest in my opinion and I wish you luck!
