I think this poem is a "wondrous" tribute to country and earth. Man's stewardship not so much lately. Let's hope it improves for all our sakes. Great job on this one, and I love the artwork choice.

"Land That I Love", is short, succinct and very much to the point. Each line of this talented poet's work is woven with the golden threads of truth. To me, this is a six, but I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I couldn't agree more. This earth is a beautiful place with magnificent landscapes, refreshing water beds, flora, fauna, etc. We should take better care of it.

Congratulations on your win, Chip!

When God made Adam and Eve, they were charged with the task of tending the garden and naming the animals, but of course they betrayed that trust, pretty well that task mankind has violated. Well done, great entry, good luck, blessjngs, Roy

So true, sadden no stewards to maintain its elegant appeal, destroyers that rip at its features, ignoring them lives which need resources to exist. All stated in my opinion.

What a beautiful picture. The earth holds many wonders and breathtaking beauty. We need to take care of it before we destroy it all. Well done, hope you do well in the contest. Rox

Yes, "benevolent stewardship" ought to be our role, as we also have the capability to do harm (such as Fukushima's irradiating of the Pacific Ocean, which may affect the entire world eventually). Well done, and aptly illustrated.

Mother Nature doesn't really ask a lot of mankind, other than we appreciate the many wondrous gifts she's given us in exchange for taking good care of the air, water and land.
I, for one feel, we've fallen far shy of the mark where that is concerned.
Global warming, acid rain, toxic & poisonous waterways, strip mining, logging, oil spills which alter the ecostructure where they occur for decades ...the list goes on and on.
Your 5-7-5 poem entry sheds some light on this topic and is an important one.
Best wishes to you in the Nature 5-7-5 contest.
~Dean

Sadly, Dean, the list does go on. We need to start on a local level with consumer activism- stop buying/using plastic products when alternatives are available, reduce our own carbon footprint, etc. So many minor things we can do if we are conscientious. Would a person ever flick a lit cigarette butt in their own garden? But they may think nothing of tossing it out their car window on a summer day and risking a brush fire (or worse). People are way overrated;^) Thanks for the read/review!

Oh what a gorgeous scene. Is it at some USA national park? As an outdoors nature lover myself, I commend the sentiments expressed in this poem. We must cherish our links with the natural beauties around us, and all who live in it.

Yes!
Just that we care enough to replace that
which she so willingly gives.
Plant a tree, pick up litter, take care
of this beautiful planet.
Love this 5-7-5.
Blessings...
