Such a powerful poem using so few words, it really captures the sensation I had when every child of mine was born. Well done in the competition and thank you for sharing.

I really appreciate your comments and review, Jamie! It struck a chord with me too... remembering when ours were small.

I thought I already reviewed this! Please forgive. I realized I fell asleep with this in my lap last night. Sugar sweet this is and truly the moment when our life changes forever!
Always my very best to you and yours,

Melissa,

How true is that??!! There are some people I know that I have said to my husband - they need a kid or two. Because they are just so self-absorbed. I know they have good hearts, though. They just need a good reason to change their world views, you know? And kids sure do that. haha

Thanks and good luck!

Hi Robyn... thanks a bunch!! Yes, I agree that children change everything. But to be honest, its us, the parents, that change the most. I am delighted you liked it.

Thanks, Yvette. I remember when we had little ones running around and everything changed and we revolved around them. I miss those days.

Ah Melissa "when they arrived"? it looks like two for the price of one. Unless you mean the young man. :) Grandchildren? or yours? :) Thank you for sharing. This is a good entry for the Six Word Poetry Contest.

Thank you!! No relation to me, just thought the photo was a good one to use. I was intending for the word you to stand as plural... ha

Coincidental that my second grandson was born on April 30, 2019. The world has not shifted so much for us, but for my grandson's older brother by two years and his parents, their world has shifted dramatically!

So your six words have wonderful meaning for me.

Mark

This is a beautifully illustrated poem. I'm not sure if "it is not about me anymore" is the dad or the first babe displaced (or sharing place) with the second babe. First babies may feel pushed out of the nest when subsequent kids are born. I'm happy to see that dads are stepping up to parenting now, something not done in my generation. You've said a lot in just six words. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

Thank you very much, Marilyn. I was intending for the reader to assume it was the dad (I didn?t even think about the older baby feeling that way)... great observation.

I really like this six word poem. A new baby certainly does make a shift in life but such a wonderful gift. The artwork that you have chosen id delightful. Good luck in the competition. Jen
