I actually managed to post but not much of anything else this week! :( Final exams dominated life (taking some time with tea this morning before 'life' takes over again) and the weekend of 'moving sons' is not finished - all my grades are in, though - hooray!! :) :) LOL! This is a very good Retourne. I am glad you gave us the details in your notes on how this style works. This flows well and the meter is strong. The rhymes are great. I like the alliteration of words such as "gluttony" and "greed" as well as, "free" and "feed." The first two lines are the ones I like best. Yes, happiness is a choice and contentment, as its sister's voice, is a wonderful way to look at each of these. The phrase on the artwork image, is very attuned, as well. Thanks for sharing this uplifting poem.

Very interesting poem. It is better to be happy but for some depression is only what they know. Good word flow and color makes this a fast and easy read.Good luck.

A good poem. So this is called a Retourne poem.Great job at structuring the first most important stanza. 8 syllables each line. Tough..may be not for you though.Plus a good message to convey.Congrates and thank you for sharing.

We had a mix of discontentment and happiness muddle up together here Trisha and I think you mean that happiness wins, for me, I always know when I am unhappy about something and since that does not happen that often, then I must be happy most of the time! I have not heard of this form before so I was introduced to something different here, love Dolly x
