The beauty of this poem is that throughout your portrayal you are honest about what you listened to and what you didn't. It brought to mind very sharply all the past advice received from one's mother and it truly made my heart ache. This was a beautiful, heartfelt, poem. I loved it.

Very sweetly and lovingly written. I like the way, that in the beginning, you show how the advice of a mother to a daughter was rather shunned or taken lightly. Then, along the way in the verses you show how the advice is more accepted by the daughter. This is as it is in the journey of life. We start out not wanting to listen, then we listen and understand, and then one day they're gone and we understand totally. I also like the way you didn't rhyme in this poetry, but it flowed like a conversation or a though or memory. Good luck in the contest.
