I really like your poem's message. Your author notes as well. Forgiveness mends the soul, and that includes forgiving ourselves also as Christ forgives. Good rhyming in your work.

It is such a pity in some cases forgiveness comes too late.
Thanks so much for your review.

I like the slow, nostalgic pace of this that is in counterpoint to the tempest being quietly unleashed. There's also an undertow throughout that I want to both enter -for the sake of understanding- and also, simultaneously, sidestep (because I fear it will break me apart.) You've done an amazing job with this, LisaMay. You bravely just 'put it all right out there,' and that's what makes it riveting and unforgettable. xo

Woweee, another one from your generous good self.
I was worried the lines were sounding rather clipped with only 7 syllables before a pause and 3 rhymes, but I could get in a few more thoughts that way. I ended up pleased with it, an instinct that it is good, so thank you for reassuring me about my own rating of it.

This was a beautiful piece of writing. The emotion in it was apparent as well as the philosophical bent of the piece. The imagery really enhanced the story and it was well written. I wish I had a six left.

Geting a virtual 6 from you is high praise indeed and I thank you for the affirmation.

There is no profit in keeping personal grudge over anyone, happy living begins with natural living free of grudge over anyone; well said, well done. Thank you for sharing. Keep Writing Inspire Changing -- DR ALCREATOR

It took me a while to realise it for myself, but you are entirely right about natural living free of grudge over anyone.

I can identify with your words, unfortunately you cannot choose your family only your friends, I have the same absent relationship with my own brother, we have a big age gap and we hardly know each other and opinions and assumptions have been made which have wrongly defined me, but there has to be a spark there of wanting a relationship and that is absent so I forgive and forget. I suspect I will find out the same way if my brother happens to die before me. I empathise with you and your words are descriptive and poignant, love Dolly x

Somehow I feel bad that we weren't close, but I doubt that he even spared me a thought. Yes, friends are where the true value lies. Thanks for sharing your own family experience; it makes me think there are many flawed family relationships in the world.
