Thanks Yvette. Bread pudding is my favourite... so many variations possible and so easy. I see you are doing binge reviewing of my work. Thanks so much for the attention and your appreciated comments.

Binging everybody's....was gone this weekend/Monday with the holiday and then to see my son's defense of his honour's thesis.... opened my messages early this morning with nearly 90 messages.... But I'm almost caught up, if you can believe it... :) ;) ;) Would be caught up completely if I didn't have to teach - LOL! :) :) Take care! ;)

Very creative wording and approach to the prompt. I enjoyed the read. Before reading, based on the title, I thought this was a romance poem involving a sticky date. Good luck.

Oh I do like the idea of licking syrup off a romantic date!!
Thanks for your review.

It is a great temptation to go on a date with a syrupy spoon. :) because the "pudding on some weight" is hard to lose. :) This is a good entry for the A Suite for the Sweets 5-7-5 prompt. Good luck on the contest.

Thanks for your upbeat review. I appreciate your comments.
Comment from Earl Corp
The format is confusing. The way the lines are all skewed made this hard for me to read I can't tell where the 5-7-5s begin. Why did you bold sticky date pudding? Good luck in the contest.

What device are you reading this on Earl? It looks fine on my computer. Maybe you have a small screen?
The lines are the usual 5-7-5 beginnings for syllable count (in 3 lines each stanza).
Thanks for your good luck wishes.

Sounds like this is so delicious I wouldn't mind pudding on the weight. Certainly sounds decadent! Where can I get some??? A great trio for the contest. Well done.

Naughty pudding-lover! Good recipes on the internet. Thanks for reviewing.

this is a fun response to the contest. Clever pun on pudding and putting and then an extension of the same one with the cliche (made fresh due to context):
I receive my just desserts
from crumbs on my plate
Excellent rhymes, flow and phonetics, especially all the S sounds, and especially these lines:
Oh, sweet indulgence!
I lick the syrupy spoon
and say: "That was great."
I can't decide if I like the colon or would prefer a comma for the last line. Either way works, though.
Amusing write. Good luck in the contest.
Yummy picture! Mmmmmm

Thanks for reviewing, much appreciated. I had a ponder about that colon. I think I agree with your instinct that it might not be right. It stops the flow that a comma would provide.
cheers, LM

Thanks for your gracious response. Glad my feedback sparked your consideration.

I've not only considered it, I've changed it. Now there's a comma.
Thanks.

Wise woman, not giving in to temptation (but missing out on yumminess!)
Comment from LyndaS
Loved this! So very clever. You meet the contest rules easily with this well written entry. Using the title words to start the first 5-7-5 is so creative. Pudding on some weight..LOL. Plus I've never had sticky date pudding but it looks simply sinful. Great picture. Good luck in this contest though I think I just reviewed the winner! Lynda

Kind of you to say so, Lynda. Simply sinful is a great way to describe that sweet temptation.

-That dessert does
look very good.
-You have written a
very good set of poems
about it.
-The syllable count is good;
the formatting adds to it,
and the imagery is vivid.
-This is like an ode to
the pudding.
-Very creative; good luck!

Thanks for this delicious review, much appreciated.
I think it is more like an ode to getting fat.

You are very welcome and probably right!

This is very fun. My mom used to make a date dessert, I haven't had it in years. It wasn't my favorite, but if it had been dipped in chocolate, it might have been. =} Very well done and delicious. Rox
