Lol! That's so cute and I can certainly understand your dilemma over the time to cook a stew vs. the ease of heating ready-made. I do try to spend some time to cook a bunch of veggies to heat up later in the week. Enjoyed!

This is fun and my daily dilemma as I am near blind. Easy always wins these days! I love to cook and bake and fresh food is always a must. I have an organic bean soup recipe near the top of my portfolio, as I am working on a gluten-free cookbook. Most of the ingredients are found in a well-stocked pantry. Living in Florida, my pantry is always well-stocked. My husband heated this soup on the grill during Hurricane Irma...delicious and very easy.
I enjoyed your humorous poem dedicated to our daily dilemma.
All my best,
Sal xo

Good idea to use the grill to heat soup. Maybe I should get one. I bet I could heat cold pizza on it too! =} I never have a well stocked pantry, I'm not a cook. My friends are mysterious busy everytime I invite them to dinner. Humm... Thanks so much Sue.

I really enjoyed this poem about your thought process! The picture is perfectly paired with your words. It IS a hard decision, what to eat, sometimes! This poem has a little bounce to it, due to the pretty consistent number of syllables per line. The purple color is playful, and a good choice for this fun poem. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks so much. I love both stew and pizza, but pizza has a special place in my heart. =} Rox

Clever circular thinking in this, beginning and ending in pizza.
But, stew from scratch I'd have to make.
Just think of all the work involved,

That would be my thinking too!

How about an author's note on the meaning of 'roux'?

Thank you, it was fun to write. Roux-Fat and flour mixed over heat to thicken sauces. Yum. =} Rox

It's always a problem working out what to have for a meal. Luckily my husband does much of the cooking. He says he enjoys it and I choose to believe him. :)

One small edit: Stouts a beer and I don't drink - 'stouts' needs an apostrophe - stout's

I'm a terrible cook, all my friends seem to be busy when I invite them to dinner. They are very mean to me. =} Thanks so much. Rox

Foxie,

No, no, NO! Don't you go and be writing cute little poems to be in the same stinking contest that I'm in! No. Now, you go on and just disqualify yourself. Go on, now.

Besides, I think speaking French is against the rules. Ummm.. yeah. I looked that up. It's in the reallllly fine print. So just deactivate this one. Oops. Sorry. Too bad for YOU.

HAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway... it's KINDA cute. But. I wanna win!

Yeah, but it's such sweet silliness. I loved it. So the pizza won the day. Hmm, that's quite a shame. A good French stew made with beer is delish!!!. Good luck in the contest with this little gem of a poem. All best. Ulla:)))

I liked this piece, Roxanna. It had a great flow to it and the rhyme scheme gave it a fun bounce. To be honest, it would be hard to beat pizza for lunch... or dinner... or cold pizza for breakfast. Good job.

I have always loved pizza. My mom would make Chef Boyardee pizza. I loved it and still make it now and then and yes I have had it for breakfast, if there's any leftover. Thanks so much. Rox

Oh the daily dilemma. What to cook or not to cook. Oh body why can't you just survive on air. Arrgggh, I hate to cook but love to eat. A well written poem. I could relate. Thanks

This is so cute, and a very original use of the "I can" prompt. I've faced the same dilemma, where the spirit wants to cook a nice meal, and the flesh says, "What are you, crazy?" I like your rhymes, and I notice your meter is getting better with each poem. Thanks for putting a much needed smile on my face.

Thank you dear. I was happy with my meter too, but someone said it was off. So I yelled at them. Just kidding. =} This was fun. Rox

You're very welcome. Perhaps the other person hasn't been watching your work as closely as I have, but I definitely see the improvement.
