Thanks Dolly. Coming from Australia, I am well acquainted with drought. It is such a tough thing to be so weather dependent.

Super job with this. I am not sure exactly if the last line has enough of that satori feel. But it starts with just natural event and ends with the dependency of mankind on nature. Best wishes in n the contest.

Thanks for your review. I tried to get a double meaning in at the end... that of the rain arriving, thus breaking the drought, but also that it has arrived too late and it has broken the farmer as he is now bankrupt.

Nice imagery. I've seen the rain bouncing like coins and I know what's it's like to be watching the rain clouds come and go without actually dropping any of their load.

Yes, us Aussies are well acquainted with those conditions... the ground too hard for the rain (if it actually turns up) to soak in.
