This could not be cooler. It's one of those Perfect Moments of Life that are infrequent because then they are so stand-out special. What an entry this is!! I can't imagine it's not going to take first place. Good luck. xo

Oh you sweet reviewer! A rare perfect moment that I was the only one to see. I was on the deck alone, saw the figure, it raised its arms to me, then the wake changed.

Thanks for your review. Being mindful to the moment is where the magic lies.

A very cool photo - so glad you captured it. This phenomenon is called pareidolia where our brains make a pattern and see a picture. But I see it just like you do - a person with arms out praising God!

Thanks for the word! I was the only one to see the figure at the time, as I was alone on the deck. When others came out the wake had changed. Lucky I had my camera.

You took this photo? That is so incredible! The poetry gods have blessed you with an innate connection to your surroundings. It extends to your phone. LOL Yes I would feel spiritual intervention as well. I think I liked your notes better than your poem. In your notes you cut loose and expand on the restrictive 17 syllables in your entry. All of it is lovely. Good luck in your contest. Well done. Lynda

A very well-written senryu about the beauty we can see around ourselves and when we wake up to experience the beauty, we are very lucky to be able to let it capture our hearts forever.

And New Zealand has some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the world... well penned and well photographed...the figure in the wake is exhilarated to be there.
Good job
God bless

The figure seemed like a personal message. I was on the deck of the boat by myself at the time, then the wake pattern changed and no-one else saw it.

I do understand your love of nature. It is uplifting, therapeutic and gives an old guy purpose to get up in the morning. And, all you have to do is look. Its right there! I'm pretty pumped up just reading your poem. Good words, good message and I wish you good luck in the contest.
